I am making somma borscht for the first time ever! :willy_nilly: It smells just like mom's!! I am chipper!! :willy_nilly:
It's a soup made with a ham bone based stock and potatoes, parsley, dill, beet leaves and green onions. Some people add buttermillk or cream as well but I prefer it without. It's delicious with baking powder biscuits, which is schnetje to me and scones to you.

I picked up this model from the postal outlet yesterday. Oh my word!!! :willy_nilly: She is even more gorgeous in person!! :willy_nilly: She cost me quite a bit of money and after I ordered her I was regretting it a little bit. But now, having seen her in person, she is worth every penny. Her name is Arktis.I LOVE this colour on a horse, chestnut turning grey. I really shouldn't have but I ordered one for myself. :ninja

Today was not a good day for sleeping. I finally went to bed at 9:30 and even though I was tired I couldn't fall asleep. To make matters worse, every time I would finally drift off a motorbike would come roaring up the street. This happened 2 or 3 times and it was always the same one too. Then the landlords decided to mow the grass. Then they decided to use the whipper snipper. I keep my windows open because it's a really nice day and otherwise it gets stuffy in here. To top everything off, my friend decided to text me at 3:00.
I actually love them.
Just not when they're thundering down the street while I'm trying to sleep. 
Tuffdisc won't let me pay him an insane amount of money to post his photos so perhaps I should go buy another expensive model horse. :ninja
