Re: zirconaz talks to herself

I had vereniki with farmer sausage and schmaun fat for supper yesteray. That's as close to Russian as I'm gonna get.

More things I've never heard of. Googled them and I dunno if I found the right thing but vereniki reminded me of perogies - loved the cheese perogies with cream and fried onions/bacon. could eat these till the cows come home.

My first dish of perogies. Little did I know the taste explosion that was awaiting me back in 2006.

 Vereniki is perogies...cottage cheese-filled perogies, to be exact. Us Mennonites have perfected them. :D I'm also a fan of potato and cheese perogies, fried and with sour cream. :thumbup

Re: zirconaz talks to herself

I *do* like cottage cheese - but i'd have to try it inside perogies - not sure I'd like that :p

I said cream didn't I? Yup - I think you were right - it probably was sour cream my hostess used.

It's always my "last supper" when I leave (sadly) to come back to these shores :D

Most definitely. :D

My heart lies there. I love the country. Now I just have to figure out how to get my body there :p

Re: zirconaz talks to herself

What's so great about Canada (according to you)? Perhaps you need to post in the "sell your soul" thread. :24:

Well, the people, the culture, the country and its sights. There's so much I could say... lets see (a few things because it's 1.15 am :p)

I love being able to drive for miles sometimes and not see a house or another soul.
I love the laid back attitude of people on the coastal towns.

The attitude of youth is different than that in this country. This country felt a lot 'friendlier' in bygone years. Canada has its problems, for sure (drug gangs and whatnot) like any other country but the positives outweigh any negatives.

I love the friends I've made already. They feel more like a family to me than my own family. I only have my sister here and I love her dearly of course but she moved out from my parents home many years ago. So did I, but this is not the point :)

The food!

The variety of scenery - so much to get to and drive to within Canada. I think my DSLR would explode with all the pics I'd take ;)

That will do for now :p

Normally I'm not much for alternate versions (of anything) but the remix album of Go is quite fabulous. I almost like it more than the original. :D:thumbup
