The Summer Transfers Thread

Also, if I'm not mistaken, the french league doesn't allow too many non-eu players in a team. So PSG need to be careful. With Pastore, Silva, Lavezzi, Nene and others I forget, they might go over the limit. That would be funny.

I have that problem too with my brother.

Pros of signing Van Persie : He's a good striker, proven in the Premier League. He wouldn't cost that much in relation to what he could cost. It'd make Piers Morgan sad.

Cons : He's a bit injury prone. It could hinder the younger strikers we already have. He's 29.

It's quite eerie. I mean 10 years ago Rio Ferdinand didn't want to go on Leeds pre season tour, because he wanted a transfer to us, or at least leave Leeds. Now Van Persie apparently doesn't want to go on Arsenal's, weird. It's called engineering a move. Part of me is hoping this is a smokescreen for another transfer. Sir Alex and David Gill have been known in the past for being secretive regarding some transfers so are just using this Van Persie "saga" as that smokescreen to sign somebody else. in turn this makes the press look stupid because if we did sign someone else, they wouldn't have picked up on it. Maybe we told Arsenal to tell the press we'd made an inquiry about him without actually doing so, conspiracy theories. I'm not convinced we absolutely need Van Persie, but I wouldn't complain.

:D

Little players are the best players. Xavi, Messi, Iniesta, Scholes, Modric etc. The reason is they develop earlier in terms of football skills.

Looking at Spurs' possible team without Modric....It's not terrible but they might struggle to get into the top 4 this season.

The question arises now; does Wenget spend some more? Is Girourd quite ready to step up? I'm sure a lot of arsenal fans would like to see Llorrente bid for, but now the world knows Wenger has at least 24 million in the chest, prices suddenly slyrocket.
