Eden Hazard gets his wish to sign for Chelsea. It seems he wants to start all the time because his reasons for not going to Barcelona or Real Madrid are that he wasn't guaranteed first team football all the time. Consider he can play anywhere across the midfield and look.

Real - Ozil, Ronaldo, Di Maria, Callejon, Kaka, Alonso, Diarra, Khedeira, Granero, Altintop, Sahin (Only 4 of these play at any one time, and Kaka isn't a regular, yes)

Barcelona - Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas, Busquets, Keita, Mascherano, Thiago (Only 3 play)

I can see why he says he wasn't guaranteed to play all the time.

Man United have agreed terms on the transfer of Shinji Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund. I've seen him a couple of times and this could work quite well.

I hadn't until we started being linked with him (I don't watch German football), then I saw a couple of games with him in. I think he got 15 goals in 34 games last season which is pretty good for a midfielder. So I suppose he's a goal scoring midfielder. I couldn't tell you if he'll succeed or fail yet, we'll see.

I do still think we need a striker with Owen gone and Berbatov going, I'd love a cheeky bid for Van Persie but I'd settle for Benzema.

He's good. They love him up in Dortmund (friend of mine is Borussia fan) Japan has better players than England right now.

I haven't seen him play either but I've been hearing his name a lot, lately. I get fascinated with these kind of signings, so mysterious! Can't wait to see him play next season!

'The Sun says all parties are in agreement: Modric is on his way to Old Trafford.'

Yeah because the Sun is the more reputable of all sources.

That said I'd love Modric at Old Trafford. It's about time he made the step up to the truly top level and he'd do very well there. The last thing Spurs need this year is another will he won't he with Modric, leading to him not playing for a month at the start of the season, then coming back in, making Bale look distinctly average, carry the team for a spell while the press fap themselves silly over Bale, before Spurs go through there "let's not win any games for a month" spell.

It's best to just let him go to a bigger club, swap deal for Berbatov would be good for all concerned.

spurs turned down 40 million from chelsea last summer, since then hes signed a new 5 year deal so why would they accept 25 million?

Markets change. I don't think he did sign anything since the Chelsea saga, but he's not running out of years on his contract anytime soon.

The fact is, no player is shackled to a club, because they can buy out their contract. A difficult and rare possibility, but a possibility none the less.: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Webster_ruling
The EU courts can get involved because any one in any industry has the "freedom of work and movement".

Eventually something has to give.

They might not have a choice. He did sign a new contract before Chelsea came in, but clubs sometimes do that as an insurance policy to make more money. He'd cost us £25m plus £5m in add ons. That's quite a lot of money for a player still. I think Spurs need to realise that they aren't in the truly top bracket of English football, are only in the Europa League next season, and that their players might want to leave because of this. They could build a team again.

Springsteen, is it possible to red-rep you for posting something from that newspaper? >.>

Sure :D Wasn't my fault though.

They don't want to sell because he's worth more than that to the club.

Modric is world class, and they could get a billion £ and be unable to replace him because nobody that quality wants to come to Spurs.
