you shouldnt be using any "shots" while leveling. spec combat, sinister strike->eviscerate if youre doing a lot of moving, otherwise do a slice and dice. save cooldowns like evasion + bladefury + adrenaline rush and pull 3-4 mobs at a time for max grinding.

I'm basically doing Sneak Attack (or whatever it's called), taking those two points and putting on Slice and Dice, hitting SS until I get two points again and hitting rupture so I don't have to chase the bugger when he flees.

What I wasn't sure of is when to use Expose Armor or the like.

I've got my main, 80 Hunter, but I'm having more fun with my alt who's a 38 Rogue.

I just got to my favorite questing area and just walking around in there is relaxing to me. I'll be in this area for a good 7-8 levels, in no hurry to leave.
