Doesn't seem to be much consensus on the class. EVERYBODY agrees on how to play a Hunter, but not a Rogue. For instance, one site says "Always have Slice and Dice up, no matter the fight." while others say "Don't bother with S&D except in a dungeon."

:dunno

no class is complicated, it just takes getting used to

most advice is for dungeons because its hard to get a good rotation down against mobs who dont live long enough to earn combo points

I'm leveling a Rogue... just got it up to 25.

Been reading and everybody agrees to buy as much gear as you can at each level. Apparently, rogue has the worst armor rating in the game, cloth types included because of no magical buffs.

So... between paying for constantly updated weapons and armor and leveling jewelcrafting and enchanting with no gathering professions this guy is going to cost my 80 Hunter a fortune to maintain.

Rule #1 on WoW - 95%+ of the population have no clue what they are doing. Most all of the content from low level guilds/trade or gen chat is going to be incorrect.

There is no reason to buy gear at a every level. Gear doesnt make nearly as big of a difference in leveling, especially the gear pre-60. It is very easy to hit level 58 as a rogue in full level 20 greens. Weapons are the only things wihch are nice to have for leveling, and even those only need an upgrade once every 10 levels or so. Most of the time you can jump from quest weapon to quest weapon.

Rogues "armor rating" (Im assuming this means character armor after self-buffs) isn't a huge deal. As PvP specs, it is true most clotheis have +armor talents, but even then, I am not sure that they have more armor than rogues. Armor scales directly with ilvl. Agi gives 2 points of armor per point also. That being said, rogues do have low armor one way or another. However, for grinding/pve, its pretty irrelevant. Rogues dodge is also obscenely high, and if youre combat with some parry talents, its that much better. You also have stuns, blind and evasion if you overpull. Youll also get dismantle which is great for pve and pvp. Dont forget feint also reduces any aoe damage by 50%.

Enchanting is pretty easy to level if you DE all your quest mats. JC is a little annoying to level, but once you get to around ~285ish its pretty easy also.

In PvP, rogues have a lot and very little survivability. Youll get prep in pvp at 80, so you can go through cooldowns twice. Once your CDs are down though, youre fairly squishy.

And as for any class, you can argue under situational rotations. Its the same for any class. It also depends on spec. s&d every time if you have cut to the chase, but if the jump between mobs is 15-20 seconds, youre better off envenoming or eviscerating, or even kidney shotting.

Thanks. :)

I really never use some of the evasion stuff, but I'm going to start working on that. I've just been running up and sticking knives into things up to this point.

Well, me and some guildies invaded the Horde last night for shits and giggles.

I learned just how low of an 80 I really am, but it was fun.

My first zepplin ride. :)

No more wow for me... after not playing or wanting to play for over a months. I've stopped the account for now...

I don't think I'll miss it really. And the extra money can go towards bills!

Or... clothes? Hmmm...

I'm on the fence on quitting, too. I cancelled my account and it runs out on Monday. I'm still debating on whether or not I should un-cancel it.

you're on a quest http://www.wowhead.com/quest=13377. you're supposed to port there from Stormwind .

before you do that i suggest you fish in their water for the achievement

Nope, I am not on that quest, and I tried to fish in there, but couldn't.

There are only NPCs in the city. No one knows what's going on, but I am definitely not on that quest.

I never even explored the area that has the Undercity in it.

then you're on http://www.wowhead.com/quest=13369

its a chain, im just saying, its improbable that the servers are messing up for only you, yet you can do everything else in the game

also:

As of 3.1, you can no longer enter Ragefire Chasm. In addition, I could cast for fishing, but when I right clicked my bobber I could not loot whatever fish I tried to find. I can't confirm whether or not the Explore Durotar achievement still works since I already completed it.
so its very much possible

got to bring my DK into ICC10 last night... ended up walking out with the Frost Giant's Cleaver, Blade-Scored Carapace, my first rep ring, and enough emblems to buy a cloak. :24: Not a bad haul for one night.

Called "The Instance" off iTunes.

It's surprising well done. I was expecting your typical teen virgin boys giggling in a basement, but it's actually very professionally done. :)

I might have to check that out... I'm often bored and wanting something to listen to at work, and I can only take so much talk radio :24:
