So, question for everyone. How exactly do you go about making gold in WoW? For me, I generally do my dailies on at least one character, and now my priest makes and sells anywhere between 100-500 glyphs in a day. But I still can't really even come close to the gold that a lot of people have. I'm not super great at playing the AH other than buying herbs low to mill and make glyphs with. But that being said, I do make a pretty decent amount of gold that way, I've made about 5k this week so far... of course I've spent about half of that on stupid saronites and raiding supplies, but hey.

What about the rest of you?

5000 a week is very good money. I typically sell 1-2 saronites a week for 2250-2500 gold per week. My guild gives us 24/7 guild repairs, so that is free. I spend probably 300-400g a week on potion of speed, endless rage flask, indestructible potion (the armor potions, i pre-pot with these before we pull the boss), hp pots, and hearty rhino + norther spices for ArP food.

I am far from the wealthiest player ever, but if you consistantly make 1500 gold per week profit, every month you ~7000 gold. Every year that is nearly 100k gold. It doesnt sound like y oure doing anything wrong other than just not doing it long enough.

I persoally dont have the patience to farm. I sold about 15-20 of the glory of the ulduar 10 raids at 15000 gold per person (for 9 people), I sold various achievemet kills such as Algalon or Yogg for 5-10k a pop. At 70, I made about 20k+ gold selling arena points/leveling peoples PR. There are a ton of ways to make gold. I prefer the service method of doing things that most people cant/dont want to do in WoW. You can farm, you can play the AH, or you can harvest rare goods. Farming unique pets, getting seals from the Argent Tournament for the faction pets, and stuff like that is also another pretty good way.

first Thursday raid... like ever. We actually had people show up for once. Anyway, took Rotface down and then got Putricide to 14%... first night all but about 3 of us had even seen him. :D
Kind of suprising you wiped in p3. Not that getting there is bad, but p3 is the easiest of the three phases so long as you get there cleanly, which on normal mode isnt too hard. On hadmode, instead of tear gas stunning the raid, he spawns a green and red goo at the same time. Ontop of that, the raid is randomly split into debuffs which only allow you to attack one of the colors. In addition to all of that, there is also a disease which must be properly spread throughout the raid. It is really fun/annoying :(

I figured it was pretty decent money... I just have to get these damn saronites out of the way for my Pillars of Might and then I can start saving gold. For a while I was doing the selling faction pets, but that market has largely tanked on Silvermoon, as the pets only go for about 200-300g/ea, and it takes I think 5 days to get enough seals for one.

Well we had really really bad luck at the beginning of P3, had a green ooze pop right as we went into P3, and as soon as it popped out we went into P3 and I didn't have a chance to slow it. So as soon as P3 started, it went and murdered our spriest, who happened to be our top DPS. We just have to make sure that we have the oozes as well as the slime taken care of. But I don't have any doubts that we'll get him down soon. We would've had him down last night, but we started way late.

and as I'm heading to bed I have 10k worth of auctions up on the AH right now between glyphs, a deck, and some runescrolls or fortitude. Of course I'll wake up in the morning to find that 5 things have sold and my other 500ish auctions have been undercut. :24:

So right now I am lacking around 50% to make lvl 59.
Apparently since I only have the original game, and none of the expansion I am only can lvl up to 60. Well I am nearly done with that :p

Started a pally yesterday night, at lvl 4 now -- didn't play her much lol

burning crusade isnt very expensive, I honestly wouldnt waste my time with wow if you dont intend on buying both of the expansions.

As for putricide, I have no idea how a shadow priest is topping your meters. The only time an spriest should be remotely high is on AOE fights or possibly multi-target fights, which PP isnt really about.

Anyways, there are a few tricks you can do on the fight. For the tear gas stun, you can vanish/invisibility it right before it stuns you to get a litte more dps on the boss. If you have a resto druid, make sure they are constantly rejuving/wild growthing the abom. If they have revitalize (which they should), the talent gives a 15% chance to generate 4 energy to the abom per tick. Its especially useful if the abom eats all of the ooze too quickly and eliminates the puddle.

Went to Outland for the first time today.

I received WoW as a gift from a friend and I honestly don't think he thought I would get into this game as much as I did. *blush* So he didn't bother with getting me the expansions

He's topping our meters because he's the best geared of any of our DPS currently. He's also probably one of the best spriests I've seen in a long while. Unfortunately, no resto druid, so no revitalize on my abom... the only time I really had a problem with not having enough energy to slow the oozes was when he only spawned one slime pool for the entire first phase of the fight. We also don't have a rogue or mage in the guild right now either (which kills me inside), so the invis/vanish trick unfortunately doesn't help us right now either. :24:

Well, the hard enrage really isnt ever a problem for putricide unless you have a ton of deaths in p1/p2, but then once again, youll probably wipe to the soft enrage in p3 (the oozes filling the entire room).

If dps is a problem, just tank the boss right where the green ooze spawns, this lets you cleave down the green/hit the boss. another good tip is to make sure your entire raid has their back towards the center of the room (there is a little circle inside of the large circle in the center of the room, always orient your back towards it). this way the green goes in a predictable path.

i am just so used to hardmodes now though lol. so long as you are killing the oozes, stopping damage 1.5-2% before the phase transitions to kill a new goo, its a pretty easy fight. We got him to about 8% last night on hardmode, but that was with a tank death. He ended up enraging, without that tank death it would have been a 500k wipe.

I hit the big 60 yesterday (several hours AFTER Leah), went up to HFP and got me a flying mount.

I did have an annoying glitch. I had the quest to collect scrap wood and scrap iron. I was fighting orcs and there was glittery wood and iron pieces all around, could have easily finished the quest. But NONE of them would let me pick them up. :mad Never got the little cog-wheel icon... TOTALLY pissed me off.

Now I gotta go back and kill the same damn orcs for no reason just to score the wood and iron. :thumbdown:thumbdown

Well that's odd... the only thing I can think of that would cause something like that would be being in a raid group, but generally you wouldn't see the sparkle stuff on the ground if that were the case.

Nope.. not in a raid...

....

in fact, I don't know what a raid is.

I've soloed my entire time on WoW... only done two dungeons and one of those I couldn't complete due to a PC crash.

"Raids (a type of group) are parties of up to 40 people, divided into up to 8 groups of up to 5 players. The terms "raid" and "raiding" primarily and traditionally refer to PVE raid-specific instances and zones. As party leader, a player can convert their group into a raid group by accessing the "Social" Panel, selecting "Raid", and choosing "Convert Group to Raid." From then on, any new players invited to the group will join the raid group (up to a maximum of 40)."
