let me just add this.
if your system does away with the corruption, waste, politcal greed and actually represents/listens and strives to do what is in the best interests of/for the people of the country., then im all for it......but again, i havent really seen it

Yup! It's no better and no worse. Certainly not something to be mocked and laughed about like our system of government is a joke and in some way inferior to yours.

Its not the same. After elections people in those countries will work towards a common goal. But in USA 9 months after elections they still haggling abt Nobel Peace prize and stimulus package.
I don't know what countries you are talking about.
But look at Italy, half the bloody country is up in arms about Berlisconi. And I'll tell you for free that over here Labour and conservatives will never agree over anything ever.
I refuse to believe that you think the USA is the only country like this.
Of course there are other countries too but when you play Uncle Sam to the rest of the world all eyes will be on you.
I think I get Kelvins point. Of course all countries opposition parties squabble but the USA seem to detract from the real issues by silly and very personal attacks on each other. That said, Kelvin does seem kind of oblivious to African and Asian countries who prefer killing the opposition instead!
LOL, I have to admit that but at the end of the day what matters is that the govt deliver the goods and they are doing pretty well here.

I appreciate that you chose to quote me, but my comment had absolutely NOTHING to do with the idea of Parliamnary style of government, only the idea that a two-party system doesn't provide enough options for quality candidates and invites and embraces power-brokering and corruption.
I was not reffering to the Parliamentary style either but at your diplomacy rather than laughing in disgust at my comment by that person without saying a word.
Won "it", the presidency? He didn't lie at all. He's trying to do everything he promised ... it's just that nobody had any idea what he really meant by "fundamentally transform" the USA.
And no, it is never, ever, ever better to kill the political opposition for being politically opposing. Not under any circumstance. This is the land of freedom, and we value freedom of speech and free thinking.

not everyone thinks perfectly clearly in the morning...me even more so. the first thought im my head was..."europe never had a president"....so i thought it was funny.
and again,..no matter what the system of government may be.....we all have our ploitical problems,...but amazingly you still have more people wanting to come to the U.S. to try and make a better life than anywhere else...hmmm.... we must really suck.

To each his own really. Cummunist China is prospering while others are reeling the effects of the financial meltdown. Your system is good for you and its like a software which nobody can copy. If they copy they will fail.
Prospering? I'm sure there are quite of few of the billion plus people living there who don't feel very "prosperous" in the oppresion and poverty they are mired in.
Out of curiosity... have you ever lived in the US or are you just forming your opinions based on an outside view of how our lifestyle and politics really are?
