The Left Wing vs Right Wing World (INFOGRAPHIC)

Prospering? I'm sure there are quite of few of the billion plus people living there who don't feel very "prosperous" in the oppresion and poverty they are mired in.

Out of curiosity... have you ever lived in the US or are you just forming your opinions based on an outside view of how our lifestyle and politics really are?
Not been to US but I have family members living there for more than 20 years.

China has a population of 1.3 billion. In every country there will be some form of poverty but china's economy is poised to grow at 8.5% this year and that a remarkable figure given the crisis.

And how many of those 1.3 billion people will notice a significant change in their lives because of that "remarkable growth"?

You honestly believe that the oppression, human rights violations and poverty in China are comparable to the rest of the "civilizd" world?

In FY07, China borrowed $1.641 billion from the World Bank. Since becoming a member of the World Bank in 1980, the Bank has supported more than 284 projects in China, with a total of $42.2 billion in loans and credits – of which 70 projects are ongoing, making China's portfolio one of the largest in the Bank.

China graduated from the International Development Association in 1999.

China achieved 14 percent of the world economy on purchasing power parity basis in 2005 (second to the United States).China contributed one-third of global economic growth in 2004.In 2004, China accounted for half of global growth in metals demand, and one-third global growth in oil demand.

China's economy has a high energy intensity. The country uses 20-100 percent more energy than OECD countries for many industrial processes. Automobile standards lag behind European standards by ten years. And China has 20 of the world's 30 most polluted cities, largely due to high coal use and motorization.

Foreign exchange reserves exceed $1000 billion (exceed Japan), and are growing at about $200 billion a year.About 20 percent of China's exports go to the United States.Real GDP grew a stronger than expected: 11.5 percent in the first three quarters of 2007.

GDP growth is projected to be 11.5 percent in 2007.

In 1985 average income in China was $293; in 2006 the average income is $2,025.

Before you talk abt human rights put your own house in order first. Before human rights get rid of your protectionism policies first. China is currenty the world's 3rd largest economy after USA and Japan. In the next decade china will overtake Japan. You will be caught off-guard in the next 2 decades.

Yeah because trade deficits are WAAAY more important than the physical well-being of your people.

Economy is more important than human beings? Really?

And it's funny that you are critical of our "protectionism" when far more people here complain that our "free-trade" policies are what has damaged our economy the most. (I am not one of those people, BTW)

They both complement each other. Maybe Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs come into play too.

I'm not talking about Saudi Arabia. I'm talking about YOUR country. You asked me to look in the mirror. I did. You will not respond because you cannot defend your country's actions.
We also hav death penalty here. Vandelism is a seizable offenece here. We have tough laws here. They serve our purpose unlike the gun culture. We have the lowest crime rates in the world.
