But, I just checked Dell.com. I can get the same specs in an Inspiron, brand new and with a 2 year limited warranty for $599.

The thing with panacea's thread is that her needs are different than mine. I went all out on my Dell laptop before- I think it came to 1200 dollars. So now I'm spoiled lol. I need at least 320GB Hard Drive, webcam and mic, bluetooth, built in wireless, DVD burners/player, good audio, and good graphics (HD is preferred but I can settle). Sturdy build too.
