Re: The 2012 Reading Challenge

Does it count when I read my boys a book at bed time? Because I can read three in one night... :muscles:

Re: The 2012 Reading Challenge

Perhaps there should be a small stipulation, such as a minimum page count for each book.

I don't know, I'd leave it up to the individual as to what page count they want.

Yeah, I don't want to get too specific about what people are allowed to read, this is really just for fun and the personal happiness of having completed it :p

Re: The 2012 Reading Challenge

I'm looking forward to starting the challenge.

I went to the library today and one of the 3 books I got out is destined to be Week 1's book :D

I'm looking forward to it too! I'm pretty sure I'm going to start with a Stephen King book because it's been a while since I read some of them, just haven't decided which yet. That and my sister got me a book voucher for christmas so I can hopefully pick up a couple of new ones as well :)

I picked up The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub. But it's just under 1,000 pages so I'm in two minds about whether to use it as week 1's book.

Re: The 2012 Reading Challenge

Now, I have to ask. Does a book have to be started after the first? I just got a book on my kindle a day or two ago, and I've not gotten far into it, but if I start it before the first, does it count? Or do I have to wait? :p

My question is... what if I read more than one per week??? I read a LOT and I read very quickly.

I was planning on counting the one I just started a couple of days ago. :24: Especially since I'm like all of 50 pages into it and it's around 900 pages long. I'll be sad if it's disallowed. :( :24:

I'm going to read more than one a week but I'm only going to count the one I start and finish that week. The only reason I'm doing it as one per week is so I stretch the challenge out for the whole of 2012. Last year I reached 52 books in June.

And Anathelia & Retro: I'd say it's up to you if you want to count it. I'm not going to start getting strict on rules because, like HK said, it's just for fun.

Re: The 2012 Reading Challenge

Yep, I'd say the same. I'm personally going to try and start a book on the first, because it'll bug me not to, but if anyone's in the middle of something then by all means, go ahead and finish it and put it towards your total!

Could an admin add Juggsbunny to the OP pleeeeease? :)

Can't you edit the original post!??!?!

Oh, and I assume we'll all keep a running list of the books we've read in this thread?

No, I can't edit the OP Kyle, you lose the ability after a certain amount of time.

To keep it tidy, I was going to start a new thread just for book posts. We could try and get an admin to edit the posts but that might get a bit tedious - how about when you add a new book, copy+paste your previous post and add in the new one or something?

Unless anyone else has a better idea, which would be handy to hear :p

Sounds good to me. I think I'll keep a track of my books til I get to 5 or so then post, then next 5 etc so I'm not spamming lmao
