Well, we all had a moment of clarity when we went to Vegas. Me and my friends decided to stop all substances. So, I quit smoking cigs, marijuana and drinking alcohol. I'm really on edge right now. I'm very snappy with co-workers, but its for a good cause. I feel like a caged animal. But I will make it. I know I can. Anyone else ever have a moment like that? Where you just wanna purify your body? Where you just feel dirty, no matter how clean you are? I mean, this stuff was beating me up. I was calling myself a piece of shit. Then I started thinking. Its a good thing that I'm beating myself up. Cause it shows that I know what's right from wrong. Then I started thinking. If I realize something is wrong, why do I do it? Why do I constantly find the most ignorant ways of justifying killing myself, rather than looking at the reality of it? The reality being, I'm paying a bunch of rich ass holes a bunch of money to kill me. So fuck it, I'm a grown ass man. Its time to let go of this lifestyle and step up. Thanks for reading guys.:)

There's not a lot of people that are willing to make that change. I'm sure if you keep the same attitude you can keep it up.

the 2 best thing you could for yourself are quiting the booze and smoking just one of them is bad but both together are a real nasty slow death , if i hadn't stopped drinking 15 plus years ago i'm sure i'd be dead right now , and i was to the point of wondering if i was going to wake up because my breathing was so bad from smoking , after only 3 months i feel so much better it's unreal i can breath again.:D

I actually thought that it was easy to give up cigarettes, I just made the decision to stop & did. I don't think that you have to give up drinking, though, just give up drinking a lot. As Homer says a glass of wine over dinner, or a light beer every now & then is not a bad thing.

I have recently done that as well, boomer. Having trouble on the alcohol part though. I have drank about 3 times since I "quit" a month ago. But I'm done with the cigs and have been done with the pot for a while. I also quit taking vicodins. yay me. drug/alcohol free!
