im not sure about this. I personally wouldnt buy it for my daughter if ihad one.

its not realistic anyway so they'd be learning no more than they would if they were copying mums behaviour.

the flower nipples are a big odd too. i know they cant very well have real looking ones. I do however like the idea of interactive clothing. if they programed it to know if the baby was being held properly or if it is crying and you pick it up and hold it, it stops. this would be a cute little toy.

I just thought...do you have those real life baby dolls they give to teens in high school, that they have to feed, change and look after...to encourange them NOT to have a baby.

Not saying this doll does encourage young kids....just a question. Truly...it made me think of it.

:24::24::24::24:...and then you put in your last sentence.....ooooh the irony.:clap
im not seeing the irony? it is ignorant to think that breastfeeding is wrong/offensive/bad because they only see breasts as a sexual thing. visit a few mommy debate boards and look up breastfeeding debates. ive been involved in plenty (and IRL) and its very common (and ignorant)

Ok well, I don't think breastfeeding is wrong and that is NOT the topic of this thread. It has to do with breastfeeding and children simulating such.

Maybe this should be moved to the debate area seeing as how this thread failed epically

maybe all of your posts should be since you always take the side of a debate that starts the heated discussion
This was never really meant to start a debate. I'm not taking sides. I find nothing wrong with breastfeeding. I find the doll and concept for the toy a bit absurd and felt that way from the get go; hence why it was posted in this forum. Moving on?

I took one home for a boyfriend once my freshman year of high school. On a school night. I think I slept 20 minutes total? Oh. My. Gosh. I told him no more first thing the next day.

Only girls who did the childcare course got them. I remember my friend only just got hers and was showing it to all of us at the top of a staircase and she accidently dropped it. It went flying down the steps and broke.

She was very red-faced when she had to explain what happened.

Thats right. I couldnt remember why they got them. It was for the girls doing childcare. Not so much to encourage them not to have a bub. (although Im sure it did just that with a few of them;)
