So, I was arguing with my friend yesterday about the term sluts.

His opinion was, that a slut is a girl who sleeps around with random men frequently. I disagreed and said a girl who does that is fucking awesome and shouldn't be called a slut.

I also had a really good theory going, I was of the opinion that girls don't put out as much as they should because they are scared that guys and girls will just call them sluts. If they sleep with X amount of men per week, they will be considered a slut.

However, I am of the opinion that sex is just an awesome thing, so to call a girl who puts out a slut is a completely stupid thing to say, especially for a guy.

What are your thoughts?

P.S - I came the the conclusion that a slut is a girl who cheats on her boyfriend when they are going steady.

I wouldn't say that they just don't care who they have sex with. It's not like any of the ones I have known of both gender sleep with any ol' ugly troll.

It's usually just a phase they go through when they want to bone or get boned with lots of people that they fancy. Kind of like a getting it out of your system thing. Usually when a relationship has ended.

Of course some do that their whole life!!

No, it is not. I personally don't think a girl should be labeled as a slut based on the number of people they've slept with or their promiscuity. The same stigma is definitely not attached to guys. Btw, your avi freaks me out a little :/

Of course sex is awesome, however your theory falls apart when one considers things like self control. Also, the way you frame the word "put out" sounds like women are supposed to be inferior sexually to men by submitting to their lust.


A girl who sleeps around is trouble. Plain and simple. I am willing to say that the vast majority of women who are very easy and sleep around often will have nothing but problems in their lives. Plus, usually women who put out often to random guys have a lot of emotional and psychological problems.

I cant stand the term at all but i do have some thoughts....I think some men hold traditional values (even though they dont consider themselves to be "traditional" kinda people) and they want a woman that has not slept around. They want to be the the only guy who has ever touched her. The idea of a woman passing herself around as the "soup de jour" to many different guys might make a guy worry about what she might have picked up.

While I can agree with you that sex is an awesome thing...I dont think its stupid for a guy to steer clear of any girl who sleeps around a lot.

IMO, the only reason you think being "slutty" is a great thing is because you are only thinking about yourself and what you'll get out of it. You got a sister? Would you still think she is awesome if she got drunk and passed herself around amongst the guys at a college frat party? If not a sister then substitute any female figure in your life that you care about....then you might understand why bed-hopping is not such a great thing.

The term Slut i would say is someone who sleeps around period.... personally i think its bullshit i mean men dont get called sluts when they sleep around HOWEVER..... i guess once upon a time someone somewhere was pissed off at the fact a woman was getting laid more than he and came up with the term to cover his ego.....
