Sideline thread for debate conversations...

The Dark Knight was an awesome film. If a bit long winded. It could've ended a good thirty minutes before it actually finished, and would've been all the better for it.

That said, Heath Ledger, what an amazing performance, didn't think anyone could do the Joker better than Jack...

Red/HK: 8
Retro/Cam: 5
Ed/Butterfly: 5


Since there are 8 players in this game, I would expect each debate to get at least 6 votes... and I'll tell you now that not all of the 5 votes cast in Retro/Cam and Ed/Butterfly are cast by debaters. Only TWO debaters have cast votes.

Okay, I've voted on all the debates now (except my own) :) I admit I hadn't done it sooner because trying to analyse someone else's responses not for whether I agree but whether they've made a good argument makes my brain hurt. All done now though!

i wonder if people are not voting because in order to do so they are asked to rationalise their decision

That's definitely the bit I found hardest, but on the other hand it's nice to know people will have to think about their decision, rather than it being a case of 'well I like so-and-so, they're pretty cool' or 'yeah, avatar was awesome!'

oh i completley agree and i am sure that is why Sam wanted this, an informed vote so to speak I just dont think a lot will make the effort, and mine is coming by the way;)

Exactly correct.

I would rather have 10 reasoned votes than 40 votes based on "Red is sexy" or "Retro is a prick". :p

Congrats to Retro and Zirc for moving on to the Semi-Finals. :clap

We have a tie between HK and Red and a tie between Ed and Butterfly.

How we will handle this is that those two pairs will have a rematch. :D

HOWEVER... no more softball questions. I'm going to use the two questions I had prepped for the next round for the tie-breaker round. I warned you that things will get meatier in the latter rounds. :cool


I have already drawn and Butterfly and Red will be leading out for their respective debates.

Both debate threads will be posted shortly.
