Showering with one of the same sex that is homosexual

Not sure where to put this but since it was brought to mind by a news clip I saw tonite with Barnie Frank so I put this here.

I am sure this is gonna piss off some people and make them think I am a homophobe but so be it. I can not control what others who do not know me think of me.

Barney was asked about the change in the don't ask don't tell in the military. The discussion went to whether there would be an issue with gays and straits taking showers together.

So the question is what is the difference between taking a shower with a gay versus a hetero having to take a shower with one of the opposite sex.

I got no problem with it. I would love a woman to take a shower with me

So be honest. If you were at the gym would you wait or otherwise avoid a shower with one of the same sex if they were homosexual?? I would not as long as the person never showed any inclination to act out on any feelings. If that makes sense.

I don't do communal showers and hope I never have to...but if I had to I wouldn't care if I showered w/ a lesbian or even a gay man. I have gay male friends that I have undressed in front of before. Doesn't bother me.

Don't really have communal showers here. But I don't mind either way. Gay guys make such good friends, as do lesbians. I would only prefer a shower with the opposite sex if it's an SO or something though.

There are openly gay guys in the same drum corps that I play in. When we are on tour, we have to had to shower in gym showers together. No one from either group gave a shit one way or the other. All anyone ever seemed interested in was getting clean and moving on. I never noticed anyone ever being the least bit uncomfortable. I would imagine it would be the same in a military environment, probably even LESS because soldiers tend to be a lot more of a brotherhood because of the difficulties they endure together.

That hasn't been my experience. I've been hit on a bunch of times even when they know I'm straight. One guy went as far as to say I should contact him when I changed my mind. :24:

For those that want to ask how I handled it but are afraid.. I politely declined their invitation the first time. The second time wasn't so polite. I never hit anyone for asking the third time but I'll have you know they didn't ask a forth. :thumbup
