Yes, that is how I got the money I did. However, as stupid as she is, she is smart when it comes to working under the table to avoid such things as taxes.
Seems like an awful lot of trouble to go through to get out of paying such a reasonable amount? Does your child ever see her? Are the old enough to make heads and tails of the situation for themselves?

It is sad because in the end the person it hurts the most is the innocent child.

Sorry you and yours are having to deal with this Steve. :(

But look on the bright side, the child is with the parent that takes care of them and loves them. Some kids don't even have that unfortunately.

Yeah, $200 is reasonable. But for someone living in eastern NC where there are no real paying jobs (military town), that amount is a huge chunk of change. My son does see her, but there was a time when she didn't call, write or see him for 5 years of his life. Not my choice, she just "disappeared".

Thanks for your sentiment Gracie. He is 15, so he is old enough to realize.

I didn't stop to think about the cost of living in your area, so what seems reasonable to me - well I see your point. I live in a pretty high cost of living area. $2,400 is a monthly mortgage payment here.

This is one of those 'things' in life that just suck.

I hope your son deals with in a mentally healthy manner. I am always concerned about how my kids are processing things, praying that they can work through things and not hold on to them like a ball and chain - holding them back.

My heartstrings are getting all mush now. LOL!

Its the cost of living where she is living, not me.

I hope he grows up mentally healthy as well. He has gone thru a lot. Abandonment is the worse. I have tried to fill in as best I can.

Love can fill many gaps. Just keep on being the best Dad you can be. (as I'm sure you are)

Ok - I'm officially mushed out now. :p

So am I. Thinking about what he has gone thru brings a tear to my eye sometimes. I wish I could take all that pain away.

I should edit that post Boomer and take away the j/k part and let the women of OTz tear you a new one ;)

Re: Should women be equally accountable for child support if the father has full cust

Just seems kind of odd for a woman to be paying child support. Maybe cause for so long it's basically always been the man to pay.

It seemed odd to some that women were allowed to vote in our nations history. Time for change is never odd.

Re: Should women be equally accountable for child support if the father has full cust

We know women cant support children without a mans help.....
:jk
Even though you said j/k...my mother couldn't.

I totally agree that both parents should be held equally accountable for any children they bring into the world. I cannot even imagine the mindset that allows a person to have no guilt or responsibility.
