What makes me wonder is 2 ladies Santa-sizing!!

There's enough wonder in the world that makes it unnecessary to make crap like santa claus up. If you explained to a child where their presents actually came from, not the shops, not the labour, but the matter itself, that their very toys and gifts have traveled across the universe to get to them, nearly 14 billion years from the moment the matter was created. If you explained to them it took entire galaxies to be destroyed for their toys to be made, would that not be a far more fantastical ride for them? And it's true.
Why bother with Santa? How boring a story is that? Yeah some fat guy in a red suit brings you your gifts, kid. Most kids would rather hear their gifts are made of stars, I'm sure, how magical is that?
I like the Santa one better.

Santa is real or not makes no difference...children anxiously wait for the coming of Santa each year to see that their wishes are fulfilled....and when they grow up they realize what is what!
Let's not spoil the pleasure kids receive at the mention of Santa!

The problem with Ed's method is the fact that it's fucking boring to kids and they'll get bored. But no, they shouldn't be lied to, but the problem is the main thing in society is conditioned towards believing in it. And it's too late to not do it now.
Plus, you'll be denying people jobs as the fake santa's.

I think that answers the question to the title of this thread. Parents can decide what traditions they carry on and which they don't. It's kinda like the circumcision thing. There doesn't need to be laws on these things. They differ from one family to the next.

We all tell little white lies, and I think we can be forgiven for them when there's no malice intended, dont' you??? or better yet, when they're told merely to bring a little joy into the lives of children...what's wrong with that? I dont' lie as a rule, as a matter of fact, I've been known to be honest to a fault...lol...I guess when it comes to Santa I've always known that one day when my children discovered that the bearded gentleman that we all have known and adored all these years didn't actually exist, they'd understand. He may not have existed in the flesh, but in our hearts he was very much alive......and in a very real sense, the Santa story is the story of St. Nicholas, and honors the spirit of anonymous gift giving .....or giving without expectation of anything in return. To teach a child the value of that is not a lie.

Whatever you want to tell yourself. I'm not judging you, just calling a spade a spade. I'm not the kind of person to rationalize little white lies. I'd just rather people be honest. Do as you will... it really doesn't matter to me either way.
Don't get me wrong madamn butterfly, I care not what you think of me.....but don't sit there and call me a liar and then say you're not judging me. What did your parents tell you about Santa?

You are lying when you tell your children Santa is real. Rationalize it however you will, but a lie is a lie. That's not judging you... that's just stating the obvious.
If that's what you choose to do, I'm not going to think bad of you. I don't think any less of you. It's simply your choice.
However, you insist on thinking that you're the only person who could be right. As it's been said before, to each their own. Give it a rest and go find someone else to pester. Please.
