maybe ;)

there's something nice about having a woman make me a sandwich i just don't see when a man does it for me.
If I can't do it for myself (which is the way it should be) I wouldn't mind who does it to me as long as it's good

Why is it so important that only men are allowed to die on our battlefields?

I sure as hell don't want to go & fight a war & I know a lot of guys who feel the same, but I also know that there are many women out there who would gladly go into battle & fight alongside men, but we stop them from doing it.

I say if you want to fight, then go for it, male or female. Would it not be better to have a willing female who wants to fight than a reluctant guy who does not?

it's just tradition and convention. why have all the women and children get off the sinking boat first? you can see some logic behind it, children are our future and women traditionally care for them. it seems like the only jobs left are caring for the women and children by hunting food and fighting our wars, doing the dirty work. sure we have the ability to change that now, but do we want to? isnt there something to be said for the timelessness of gender roles? i just dont see our sex lives being as good if we have the same expectations and practices for men and women.

I'm not saying that every woman in the world should be sent out to war. I'm just saying that there are some women who want to fight, same as there are some women who want to love, and some who want to run businesses & some who want to have kids & some who don't & some who want to go into space & some who want to play professional golf.

If men can do all of these things because they want to, then why can't a woman?

Well, I dont want women making decisions about war, if they are not prepared to put their lives on the line. I see alot of chics(usually the younger ones) that are all gung ho about war, but dont have to worry about being drafted. I know I keep bringing up the draft thing, but that is something I have been petrified of since childhood. I dont want to go to war. (and yes, i know my points can be vague, but I never claimed to make sense anyways.)

But I do see what mori is saying. Its good to let the woman be a woman and the man be a man. Keeps it sexuh. : P

I think women should be registered in the draft, just like men. Of course, I've never been a fan of feminism. Note I said feminism, not female quality. I've always just gotten the sense that women want to be equal on the good things (pay, voting, general rights), but don't want to pick up the bad responsibilities that go with (army draft, going in to combat, etc). Or the fact that women want our archaic alimony laws to stay in place, despite them having the equal ability to go get a career. We've added all these rights for women, but we haven't equally given them many of the responsibilities men must shoulder for the same rights.

If we want equality, then it needs to be equal. That means equal good, equal bad. Otherwise it's not equality, now is it?

no no no. Women should NOT be in the draft. If there are some women who would like to be in the military, fighting on the front lines, then fine. But forcing that responsiblity on every woman, is not cool. Women are by nature the weaker sex (I'm talking physically), we have different nutritional and care needs than men, and we PMS. I jsut don't see myself changing a tampon on the battlefield...lol..I am all for equal treatment, but women are the ones who give birth...should we really be the ones dying behind enemy lines as well?

We should try our best, but there will always be exceptions.

I do however think that women WANT to be treated as women when they want things.

I'm just saying, for the right to be an American citizen, with all the equality rights it provides, I have to register to be drafted in to war. I don't want to go to war, but if I was drafted, I would go. That is a heavy responsibility that women don't share, which is never going to change mind you, probably shouldn't change either. I just think it's something women need to think about, that they do get basically all the rights of men (minus a slight pay gap that is slowly shrinking, but it's admittedly there), but don't necessarily have the civic responsibilities that a male does. One could say that women make up for this by bearing children, and that's an argument I would accept. I just think that men and women need to realize we are different, we are nearly as equal as we can be, and that we will never be completely equal. I think sometimes the progressive modern woman forgets some of that stuff.

That probably sounds somewhat chauvinist, but it's not meant to. I am just not a big fan of the homogenization of the sexes. Equality is fine, but there are always going to be differences at a physical, emotional and social level.

Ok then, how does this sound? For 3 weeks out of every month women can just sit it out, you know just hang, but for that 1 week out of every month women must front up to the front line for combat duty.

Any smart enemy would just run away & the war would be over - any enemy who stayed to fight better have chocolate on them or they will be wiped out.

Just kidding, a joke.... honest, no really - kidding.

Ok, here's my take. I am all about women getting equal pay for the same job, I think that is unfair currently. As long as women will let us guys have GUYS only things, then everything will be just fine. Its when you want to play baseball, hockey, etc in a man's world of sports. You can't compete and never will. We just weren't built the same and shouldn't be competing against each other.

On the other hand, I also believe women should equally "put out" as much as men are willing. The world is simple folks.

So women shouldn't be allowed to start their own sports organizations?

I think you mis-read or mis-understood. I meant, they should quit demanding the right to play in pro men's sports. All women sports are good, nothing at wrong with that. Women should compete against women and men should compete against men, thats all I was saying. Also women should stop trying to force their way into military academies that are all men. Why can't we continue in this fashion? Women are allowed their all women clubs.

Idk, Plenty of militaries let women fight. Israel is a good example.

Your seriously using Israel as an example? Its not about fighting. Military academies aren't about the soldiers, they are all about the leaders. We all know women can't lead combat troops.
