sexting

The fact that giving a phone to a 12 year old in the first place is even a good idea at all kinda strikes me as a little fucked up, first it begins with you giving it to them so that in an emergency they can call home, then before you know it the bloody bill is over the top and your paying extra and THEN you find out that there is Cyber shit going on..... easy fix do not give a child that age a phone. end of

My Eldest wanted a phone and the simple answer from me was, when he can afford to pay for the bill himself i will buy him a phone, he hates me for it but hes 9 and the way i see it hes gonna hate me alot more when he gets older :24:

Lol.

I've done some "suspicious" thing with my ex.

However, I believe my mobile phone needs to be put to better use.

Normal texting, phone calls.

And of course, the prank calling :D xD

Oh dont worry.

I pay for all my credit xD

And I pay 29bucks for 150bucks credit. Damn good deal.

So parents can get in touch with them or vice versa?

When I was 12 I would ride my bike to destinations miles and miles away.

I could see how a phone would be useful.

How in the world did I ever manage as a 12 year old without one?:willy_nilly:

Bullshit, I say it's one more thing parents do to some degree with the best of intentions, but in the end, it's one more thing the kids can focus on to keep from bugging their parents. And the divine irony, is parent wonder why they aren't mature enough to handle the responsibility.

Just my opinion of course. But I say the parents all need to be pecker slapped. So okay, your kids NEEDS a cell phone, then don't allow texting, email and internet.

Does a 12 year old really need that much flexibility? No

Aroudn 13 is when I think a kid should start having a cell .. when it's okay to go to the mall w/out parents and movies and the likes.. but like Evan said.. there needs to be restrictions.. no texting internet and blah de blah maybe like one of the phones verizon has that you can only call emergency numbers or homes numbers..
