Sex laws fair or unfair?

The title says it all. Think about it. Why should the government tell us what to do, when it involves love, and our bodies? If the person is willing and consents to the act, it should be perfectly legal. But at the same time, the laws do help to prevent too many underaged pregnancies, and 13 year old girls from being whores.

Thoughts, opinions?

You know what? Calling 13 year olds 'whores' when they so clearly are not, reminds me of stuff I went through at that age and a bit younger - horrific stuff.

13 year olds cannot be referred to as whores, or anyone who is not one. That is way too strong a phrase there, Dodge.

No law is going to prevent a girl from being a whore.

Same for you too AEF. I often agree with things you say, but this is way way below the belt imo.

The legal age in Holland is 13 and they have the lowest teenage pregnancies in Europe. Education is the key.;)

Now this is the correct way to go I think too Peter - education is all it takes. :)

Since when do kids listen to things they are taught? Education is not the only savior here folks when it comes to this. Until sex stops being used to sell normal everyday products, it won't matter much what you educate them. Most teens just don't give a fuck because they think they are invincible and it will NEVER happen to them. Did you guys forget being teens?

You can't go wrong with just letting them know about the facts of what they are getting themselves into. You're right, they won't listen to you half the time, but its not bad just to do it anyway, it might sink in.

I guess I was one paranoid teenager.

The legal age could be 7 for all I care, but a legal age means dick if you don't educate people.
You know, you went from the valley to the peak with this one.

As I am sure that you didn't REALLY mean that 7 year olds should be legally allowed to have sex with 40 year olds, this would be a GREAT time to offer up the PSA "Choose your words carefully"

Because the wisdom in the latter part of your statement gets completely overshadowed by the disgusting nature of the former, which is unfortunate because as I said, I'm sure you didn't really mean that word-for-word, just hypothetically.

right?

7 year olds aren't even sexual at that age.
precisely. I feel (and hope) that was said just for shock factor. And my point is, shock factor statements aren't really a good way to debate and discuss lucidly. Sniper said something utterly ridiculous (legal age 7), then said something completely sane (legal age is nothing without education).

If you're going to debate and the adult table, stuff like that needs to be kept to a minimum, unless tongue is planted firmly in cheek.

Here's an example of the former:
why is a 13 year old girl a whore if shes having sex?
Because only boys can do that. :D :jk
MAN, I was dying to say that!! :24:
