No, that isn't what I'm saying. What I'm saying is we have african americans, irish, germans, mexicans, cubans, asians, japanese, koreans, south americans, English, swedish. You name a country we have their culture here and it's all intertwined. You've already heard me state that the US needs better education, but I still feel that you comparing the teenage pregnancy rate of a larger (population and area wise) more spread out country to that of a country with a total population of the state of New York, of course there are going to be HUGE differences. The culture, the education, everything is going to be different. IE. There is no comparison. Stick to the US and the laws here.

My opinion, you know what would make this a lot less confusing?

The Age of consent in all 50 states should be 18 for both boys and girls. Period. It's 18 to smoke. It's 18 to vote. It's 18 to join the service. It's 18 for emancipation.

Why are all of these things conforming in all 50 states?

I didn't think of that, but that is true. However even 18 year olds are unprepared for their "Oh shit... you're what?" pregnancies.

Well I don't know about that. We have a far greater population, ALL of which (aside from Native americans... which, actually, immigrated across alaska at one point or another) are immigrants from other nations, cultures and ethnicities at some point or another.

I absolutely do. One mistake could lead to a lifetime of misery(pregnancy or STDs). Someday you may be lucky enough to have beautiful daughters and you too may have an issue. Its easy to think otherwise if you don't have kids of your own. Also, when you turn 30 your outlook on life changes quite drastically. What you think you knew at 20 was only a 1/4 of what you have learned in all actuality. But you already know everything, right?

Thats why you educate them on proper methods of contraception, because in all reality they could have had sex already and you just don't know about it.
