I think Kat has put this the best. I've never done it but I know someone who used to. She looks back on it and realizes that all it was was not realizing how good she had it, ya know? Focusing on the negative.

My opinion is that most do, like bass_man said, do not realize how good they actually have it. There are so many people out there who have worse than them and they deal with it. There are better ways to deal with your problems than by cutting yourself.

My wife had a friend who would get drunk when she was alone and cut herself. I never figured her out, but these days she is in and out of rehab.

Rehab is damned expensive too. This girls dad has shelled out over $25,000 on treatment for her since June of 06. How do poor people get help? No way I could afford that.

She doesn't cut herself and as far as I know she has stayed sober since June when she went in. She only cut herself when drunk so hopefully as long as she stays sober things keep getting better.

Cant say I ever felt the need to "cut" my self,

I did what any normal person would do

Get off there head on hard drugs, for the time I was on hard drugs I was free of worries and other things,
All that matterd was the moment witch totaly removed any care for pain!

Life was one big party 24/7 and the people around you where your "friends"...


The point Im trying to make is this is still a type of "self harm", It still got me no where, It still harmed my body and it was still a pointless time in mylife altho i see cutting yourself much more pointless as you cant get high of it but thats just me...
