Oh I definitely see a change happening in media but its going to take years to undo what has been done to the young girls that have been negatively influenced by it over the years.

They need to wake up is all and look around :D

Aw i thought it was like what low's your Self Esteem,x

"I think my boobs are too small(a self-conscious statement), and because of that I'm not as desired (low self esteem statement)."

While being self-conscious can lower your self esteem, it's not what it means, no.

or/and

"I think my boobs are too small(a self-conscious statement), but that doesn't stop me from having fun because I have tons of other great qualities(high self esteem statement)."

Self esteem reflects confidence in one's self.

See the difference?

Yeah,get it now' :p

So does that mean im not Self Conscious?

Meeehhh, myself and I are to be blamed :D

My way of thinking at times. It's hard when one overthinks and maybe compare oneself with others . I avoid it by all means of course- hence the battle inside my mind :p :24: :24:

he media is to blame for a lot of image conscious people. They think u need to be border anorexic to be beautiful.

Partly, i agree especially when one gets easily influenced by media at how some models or celebrities look . We tend to pattern our image from them..... which imo is BAD!!!:ninja

I believe everyone is unique and each of us has something good about ourselves to offer to the world ;)

I still think its society.

Example- a girl laughs at a guy cause of the size of his penis. The guy is gonna feel some type a way about that.

A guy calls a girl fat. The girl is gonna feel some type a way about it and vice versa

Sterio-type that guys like girls with big tits. a girl with small boobs is gonna feel some type a way about that.

So i believe its society being immature and shallow

I agree that society is immature and shallow.
But it is up to the individual to say Fuck what society say's I should look like, and be themselves. Love themselves.

but it doesnt help when someone makes fun of someone cause of what they look like. Of course someone would be self conscious about it.

I say the same thing. Society says you should look like barbie. I say the hell with barbie. Not every guy likes the barbie type and girls should realize that

A person cant help if they are "ugly" or if a girl has big or small boobs or if a guy has a big or small penis. Somethings you are just born with and really cant help.

A while ago on WWE they had 2 really skinny girls calling another female wrestler Piggy James. Calling her fat. What kind of message is that sending the kids. Your fat if your not 100lbs??

Young girls soak that shit in. They dont really know how to deal with it.

I have no doubt that society is F-ed up. But it is not societies fault that these girls have no sence of self worth.

No what I am saying is. Some people have not yet discovered it. That they should not go off of what the media says they should look like.

I agree 100% they should not go by what the media says or what ever but It does happen. There is no denying it.

but Im not talking about the media. im talking about their peers and people they actually interact with. Society can have big part on the diminishing of self worth.

Yeah peer pressure is a bitch, but it is values that you hold onto that should make the pressure alot easier to fight, and not just fall into.

Honestly when I look at society's roll in the perception of self I can't look at the negative without looking at the positive (something that often gets overlooked in discussions like these). People often place a lot of weight to what others think, instead of looking to those that matter, like your friend trying to tell you that you actually matter! When you start listening to them, then your confidence picks up or you take the opportunity to correct what ever is bugging you.

Some people just haven't learned to train their way of thinking positively. You can blame media, society, other people all you want but they dont give a shit and you'll be the only one that suffers. It's negative to dwell on things you have no control over. If you stop playing the blame game and concentrate on what you can and want to do, you will have a much greater self worth.
