This is something I don't like to see.
Obama was elected and there is no valid reason not to accept him as President in a democratic society.

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/secession-petitions-now-filed-50-states-183500440.html
excerpt>
Petitions signed by hundreds of thousands of Americans seeking permission for their states to peacefully secede from the union have now been filed for all 50 states on the White House website.

It's peaceful right now and hope it stays that way....but the election is over and the future office decided according to our laws. This shouldn't be happening.

I may not like his policies, but I support his right to hold office.

To those that try to divide our nation.....:thumbdown

I had to laugh at some twitter feed that i read the day after Obama's victory

some tea party types were threatening to quit the US and move to Canada - what part of "we already have socialized healthcare and gay marriage" don they get?

I saw one guy from Texas stating that they wanted to put it to a vote as a not binding measure. I see nothing wrong with that nor with anybody bringing up the idea. I would have said the same thing 15 years ago. We have lost our way and given way too many rights over to the feds. The feds need a wake up call that this has to stop. I don't expect anything from it. It is symbolism and in short order it will be a forgotten thing from the past.

Unless the feds keep over stepping.

On a personal note I am getting sick of paying taxes then end up leaving the state. I am tired of paying excess insurance rates because some idiots build and rebuild homes where they never should be built.

And then we have California which just brings down everybody else with their nonsense environmental laws along with absurd tax rates and then want help from the feds to help them out of their mess.

Go ahead cartoon man. Have your fun now. I won't respond

I would be all for seceding everything west of I-81 from the rest of NY. They sure don't represent the views of the folks out here in Albany or Washington. But we get stuck paying for their hairbrained ideas and their laws for city folk.

You don't know New York very well. Lots of towns east of 81 don't share the same view point as Albany, as well as most everything north of 90.

Well I have lived here for 8 years. Besides you need a border! We would keep Fort Drum also. Maybe a border east of the Adirondacks? They could keep everything below and east and call it Alblumenstan.:D

There is a whole lot of a wonderful state up here in the hills. The bad part is the gimme element of our citizens demand that we subsidize their benefits. That and state and school pensions are killing seniors with the tax increases. Local level political upheaval is the only thing that will change that. Good example: Today's local paper had a story about a 3rd grade teacher who was removed from her post for scaring kids so bad with her abusive behavior kids were staying home. Her pay level was $60,800 for a 4 yr. experience teacher. I doubt a half dozen folks in that district make that much pay per year. Most teachers retire with 80% of their last year salary. I get $115 a month for 18years with the company I worked for. Now that is reduced because I took it early but even if i waited till I was 62 it would only be a little over $300.

The next time you "won't respond", try and keep it to a short paragraph. And when you GTFO, load up a truck of whiney assed teatards and take them with you.:tooth

So let me get this straight...you would rather see your fellow middle class Americans fucked over because of one alleged example of a bad teacher so much you would vote for an asshole like Romney who would gladly fuck you over in favor of the corporate welfare class? How does it feel to be so pissed off at the world you screw yourself? Teatardism............wow.
