I just watched Hostel the other day. It was pretty good & there were some parts that were rather intense but it was not really scary, just a little butt-clenching.

I was spooked pretty bad by a Chinese finger lock one time, but I was only 4 and thought I was gonna be stuck that way forever

This'll probably come back to bite me in the ass one day, but here's the movies that used to scare me. Keep in mind, I wasn't as big of a horror-movie junkie back in the day.

1. The old Michael Myers "Halloween" movies. I would mute my tv and change it at the sight of blood. It was those movies every Halloween that turned me into the crazed Horror-Movie fiend that I am today.

2. SAW - The first time I saw that movie, I was so scared, I thought I'd have nightmares about John killing me. Scary shit there.

3. Thirteen Ghosts - I was terrified of the dark, and even the daytime, after watching that bitch. I tried to act all badass like, "I'm not scared, I'll walk out here in the dark", and then I'd bolt for the nearest fucking room.

4. The Hills Have Eyes(Remake) - Now looking back, it's a great movie, but on the way to see that movie, I was so scared. I don't know why, I just was. The part with Pluto jumping/leaping through that wall killed me. I died a little bit inside, haha.

5. All The Final Destination Movies - I'll chew on things, it's a habit. After these movies, I'm terrified that death will make me choke on something I'm chewing on(Straw, toothpick, etc.).

All of these movies still have the same effect now. I can't walk through my own damn house past midnight without getting the "I'm being watched" feeling and have a shiver of terror go up my spine, then I'll bolt for my room, even if I wake up my parents. I think everyone remembers their first horror movie that lead up to the times now when they love horror movies. For me, it's like a first kiss. I'll never forget it, that moment when I was scared to shit, I was awake for a week straight, and now I love them. Although I may act badass, I'll admit, some movies, no matter how old, will still scare me, and I like that feeling, I hope that's the same way with SAW III.

Ah, I know exactly what I am on about, So I don't find movies scary BFD, sorry, i see the humor in them, I mean hell ya always know whats coming, and its all fake, so what is there to get scared about.. the creepy music, yeah sorry doesn't do it for me.

I have nothing against horror movies, I enjoy watching them, but No they don't scare me, never have.

I really like the fact that some people are scared shitless by Horror movies. That is what they are supposed to do! Wouldn't you be pissed off if you saw a comedy & you didn't get a laugh?

I watch a lot of horror films & very few of them scare me but boy do I like the ones that do - not the films that use what I call Hollywood Horror, like the sudden appearance of something on screen that makes everyone jump, but the films that mess with your mind like the original Nightmare On Elm Street & Jaws.

anyone ever see Last House On The Left , old movie but good for it's time late 60's .

Nah, but I've been meaning to sometime soon. In SAW II, they make a reference or two to Last House On The Left. When the blood trail makes the door in the floor show up near the end, and when John says, "It's the last house on the left".

yeah i know, those used to be so annoying!

Me too :D

Agreed. American remakes destroy good Japanese horror. Ringu and Ju-on are scary.

American remakes of Japanese horror movies are much better. Better graphics, better dialogue, easy to understand without subtitles, etc.

My list:

The Exorcist
Amityville Horror
Rob Zombie=House of 1000 Corpses and the Devil's Rejects

Theres more, let me think about it

Same for me for the first 2..I think its because of the whole 'True story theory' behind those movies that makes them even more shocking..Theres something about the whole possesion thing thats just freaky as hell if u read into it...lol
