As for it being a fascist document, apparently somehow it made it through all the checks and balances of our government. Unless you disagree with the way the person you quoted helped set up our government, then I guess you'll just have to accept it.

And no, our troops are not 100% perfect, but I'm equally sure that the major crime to # of troops ratio is far lower than most any city in America

The government can provide protection without jeapordizing out liberties. You still don't get my point of the PRINCIPLE of fascist laws being on the books in a democracy. That is not supposed to happen. But, since the general American population is too comfy and fat to do anything, they just let the government do as they please. It is sad.

So if congress passes something its automatically OK? Why do you assume the government has our best interests in mind all the time? They don't.


Read some literature by the man in my avatar. Your eyes will bulge out of your head when you read what the US government does. Especially the CIA.

Congress passing something doesn't make it ok. Congress passing a bill, the President signing it into law, and the Supreme Court upholding it however, does.

As far as Americans letting the government do what it pleases, how do you explain the massive congressional power shift this past election?

Seeing as how people in power all share the common interest of keeping that power and keeping th little guy under their bidding, those checks an balances go right out the window.


It doesn't really matter who's in congress. They may disagree on certain things, but all in all they are politicians. Politicians are concerned with bettering either their own situation or increasing their power while keeping societal intervention at a minimum.

But to stay in power they have to do what the majority of their constituents want, at least in our system. In others they can just censor/kill all their opponents. God bless America.

Do you really think theres a difference between democrats and republicans now a days? The lines between them are so blurred that there is really no difference. Plus, you generalize that "what their constituents want" is what the American people want as a whole.

The American people want us out of Iraq. Why isn't Bush obeying? Hmmmm.....

The same could be said about anyone, not just politicians. There are good and sincere politicians out there, just as there are good and sincere people. The problem is that they are not popular because making a good choice is not nearly as appealing to the media as making a controversial one or having a scandal on your hands.

The difference between normal people and politicians is the fact that they have more power to play around with (and money) and this makes them much more easily corruptable.

Am I to understand you have a brilliant new way of doing things to ensure things are done right 100% of the time in these highly fluid, stressfull situations, when the bad guys ALWAYS lie and say the same things the good guys say?

I'm all ears.

Hell, if you figure that one out, you'll be hero to the world for a day.
