I have no idea what to say to her when she says it. I usually say stuff like, thank you, thats sweet or mhmm hmm lol

That was me in my last relationship lol. It is hard to know what to say.. I'd say yeaaahhh or mhmm.. Sometimes I'd have to pull out I love everything I know about you.

You are right not to say it if you don't mean it though.

sometimes she says "im starting to have strong feelings for you" or "i really like you"

Haha that is cute. She does sound young, but really excited to be with you.

He said I love you first after about 5 months of dating. I returned his sentiment about 2 months later. It was used very sparingly for the next several months.

It became habit to say "I love you" about...a year into the relationship. I say "I love you" at the end of every phone conversation and anytime one of us leaves. Although it is habit now, that doesn't mean I don't mean it. I just feel it is important to have those little reminders because you never know what could happen to either of us on any given day.
