I definitely encourage you to sometime in your life go somewhere and experience the cold and snow, but I'll tell you once you get used to it you'll find that it's not all it's cracked up to be.
Sure, the day after it snows when the sky is perfectly clear and the snow covered grass is gleaming from the sunlight, it's very pretty. But that's the extent of my liking snow.
Driving in it, especially after the first snowfall of the year is the most dangerous time of year. People aren't used to it yet, and they drive like complete tools. They still speed, they still tailgate, they still take turns too fast.
Then after the roads are salted/sanded down and cleared, you have the danger of sliding on the salt/sand. I did that on the way home from work. Hit a big pile of salt and slid 5ish feet over the pile of salt until I hit the concrete again.
Read this for the nonsense I had to go through about 4 days ago.

I would much rather be able to wander off to the beach in nothing but swim trunks and not be cold all the time. My knees hurt, constantly all winter. They wouldn't be hurting if I was sitting on the beach with sunblock, sunglasses and a 6 pack of ice cold corona just chillen out.
