It's a wonderful area just outside the city here called Wanuskewin Heritage Site. It's got lots of scenic walking trails and I try to get out there once or twice a year. They recently introduced a herd of bison to the site, though I didn't remember until I was leaving so I didn't get out to the viewing area. It's kind of a bummer that it closes at 5pm, as I'd love to take sunset and night photos there.

….ahhh, the bison herd would be an amazing thing to see …but I’m sure that you will get to see them at a future visit…we have lots of National Trust sights/places to visit here and also we have English Heritage which offers many visits also …a few times in the year, there are evening lighting displays, which gives a completely different feel …but yeah, the sunset would be a perfect time to capture photos…but I guess that restricting the visiting has also helped to preserve the area in ‘giving it a rest from humans and some quiet restful time’…it’s very beautiful, I’d love to walk that path…
