Pro Abortion = Anti Death Penalty

I've always not got this. Why are so many opposed to the death penalty but are for abortion? I personally am against the death penalty but am also against abortion, if I think a murderer should live then I sure as hell think an innocent baby should. Thoughts?

I actually am anti-abortion but pro death penalty. I believe justice needs to be served to serial killers, etc, but I do not believe in innocent babies being killed.

I am against the death penalty, but not because I believe it is murder. I am against it because it does nothing to deter people from killing. In fact, the evidence shows that those states with the death penatly have a higher rate of murder than those states without the death penalty.
I also believe justice is better served with the accused behind bars for the rest of his life.

Also, your thread title is a little wrong. Pro abortion is the wrong word to use. If you are pro abortion you support abortions, for whatever reason, at whatever time. Pro choice means that you don't necessarily support all abortions, but you do support the choice.

It's a greater punishment than getting a quick needle in the arm to be a lifer. Most lifers are there because they killed someone and know they deserve their punishment or they should do. Innocent babies do not deserve to be killed.

Who determines the innocence of the fetus? It is not yet born, and is unable to be innocent nor guilty.

Never heard of the law's point of view - innocent till proven guilty. They flaunt it all the time by allowing abortion.

Innocent until proven guilty is only applied to those who have been born. Inocence cannot begin until birth, because this is the time when fetus becomes a baby, and is a legal person.:thumbup

And this is where I completely disagree with the law. Until you can prove that an unborn baby isn't a develloping human being, I stick to my opinion that abortion is murder.:thumbup

Of course it is a developing human being, I am not going to deny that! What I will deny is that it is a person.:thumbup

One cannot answer that question, Peter. I would not care if I were aborted. I would never have been aware of it to know whether I agreed with it or not. I am happy to be alive, but if my parents had decided to abort me, I would be none the wiser - and neither would you, for that matter.:thumbup

I have a friend that lives in Denmark, and it's a much different place there. Legal sex age is 16 and many have sex before then. Sex is an open and common thing, and it is much less safe. Yesterday she told me about how one of her friends just had her second abortion.

Now I am pro-choice. And I think how it is in Denmark is fine. We talked about it for a while and I realized, getting an abortion is the same thing as using protection, the egg is killed by not being fertilized by the sperm, and then the sperm dies as well. So any sex at all is 'killing innocent babies' just before the baby is allowed to develop at all.

I am against the death penalty, simply because I think it allows them out of a life of hell, prison seems like a boring, redundant, and awful place to live. And it allows innocent men to die before their innocence is discovered.

Yeah, because if it applied to them, babies wouldn't be guilty of killing their mothers if a complication occurs, man-slaughter charges from day one!
