I'm not even worried about the inevitable pain after the surgery! It's just the lying there completely conscious that's killin me even though I know it's less than 10mins. I'm the biggest wuss in the world! It took me 3 attempts to get my ears pierced.

I get what you mean about the lying there completely conscious.

My midwife telling me about C-Sections really really freaked me out (to the point I hope I never have to have one). I was fine until she mentioned her personal experience and how she could feel them inside her but in a weird way.

Yeah you can feel them moving your insides around to get the baby out.. etc... it's really really odd experience..

I'm the same way... I desperately want to have the surgery done because I'm sick and tired of glasses. But at the same time the thought of it being done while I'm there completely awake and knowing what's going on freaks me out beyond all belief.

Good luck though... and my uncle told me years ago after he had it done when the technology was a lot newer that it didn't really hurt that much during recovery.

As I said, I wanted to do it, too. And an acquaintance who is as much a scaredy-cat as I am, told me that it was totally easy. She said, that before the surgery the pure thought of lying there consciously made her panic. But in the end it was totally harmless. ^^
And as far as I know the pain after the surgery is not that bad. :)

I get laser eye surgery on wednesday. *cry*

i commend you on your decision,...although..i dont think your seeing the bigger picture here.
in 10 to 15 years you'll probably need to get the surgery done again because your eyes are still deteriorating.
why are your eyes still going bad?.........Masturbating!

yup,..if you quit trying to sink the man in the boat your eyes will be fine,...i can see where this would be a difficult decision to rub out
and...i cant visualize a world with a bunch of uptight people with perfect vision....so pet that kitty!...make it purrr and stop wondering why your going blind :D

Oh noes cod knows my secret. Damn! I can't help it! It's an addiction!! On a side note still pooping el panties over here. Igot drunk last night so I slept fine. I say fine I got 3 hours and I'm pretty sure I'm going to work still drunk. Which means with a bit of luck I will just pass out tonight without thinking about it too much. Failing that I have been instructed to sleep after surgery as havin my eyes open will be painful. This may not be a problem at this rate!

I know several people that have had the surgery done and every single one of them is extremely glad they did. Having said that, I can understand your anxiety b/c I have a huge problem w/ eye stuff and I would be nervous about laying their conscious and being able to see what's going on. You'll do just fine, though...and it will totally be worth those few minutes!!!
