Your participation may not get you the end result you want, but it is groups of people who vote that means more than squat. In other words your participation makes a difference.
Dana, the voting itself is nothing. If you want the society you want, you have to put pressure on your representative to vote as you want him to. The typical politician will do what he feels will get him reelected or get him campaign contributions. Make sure he thinks that only by doing it your way will he get reelected, then you'll get what you want.
My problem is that I can't convince them that they should do nothing. It's even harder to convince them to dismantle the invasive gov't programs and reduce gov't to the minimal distractions they should be.
