There was a Muslim in my supermarket last week, and I think he might have given me Islam when he sneezed in my direction.”
“I’ve been bathing in Jesus water for an hour every day since, but I think it might be too late because I’ve had this strange desire to blow something up all week.

Such thinking smacks of the racist mentality (caste system, etc) in the largest secular democracy of the world, viz India, and now it also seems to infect the US....bad.

Obama doesn't seem to be a Muslim...... because to the best of my info he doesn't speak Arabic!!

neither have I yet you argued that I had???? are you confused? :willy_nilly:

Good God Janie, you really don't freaking pay attention. I never said that you personally said it, I used "you" in such a manner that it could've been referring to you or to the article. I was also referring to the latter part of Guyzer's comment.

How about you actually pay attention to the things that I say rather than your own moronic preconceived notions? I wasn't defending anyone, I said I don't give a shit what religion, if any, he follows. My only statement is that you can't say wrongly unless you know him persnally... whether that came from the article or from you, it still stands.

and my statement still stands

retro don't be such a petulant ass.

you never said that you were using "you" in such a manner blah blah blah. if you read your responses, they are pretty much directed at me.

as you said - you could've been referring to me, and yet we've gone back and forth quite a few times. you could've said "I don't mean you personally" a long time ago if that's how you really meant it.

get your head out of Bill o'reilly's ass and use your own words. Then maybe people will understand what you're saying.

I think retro is trying to draw attention away from the fact that he said Obama might be Muslim unless someone her knows Obama personally, even though I dont think any of us have personally met a Muslim who is a member of a pretty fundamental Christian church.;)

that had me thinking - I mean in most religions - even to save your life - it's a pretty horrible thing to forsake your god isn't it?

like a jew denying being a jew just to get saved from the holocaust
or a catholic in england during the protestant era.

right?

so if he was muslim, and he's forsaken it to be president - he's not a very good muslim

i just don't see muslims being evil

I see terrorists being evil, but to me they would more likely just blow something up or fly a plane into an obvious place than get one of their own to be raised christian his whole life only to be president of the us for a few years...

Edit: Evil's a strong word - I would say confused and angry unless they are ambitious like the US - then they are evil, one man's terrorist is another's ally....

I mean you see more sell outs in the Republican party - if he had REALLY wanted to sell himself out he could've just gone Republican.

It was directed at whomever was making the comment. You can't say wrongly unless you know the man personally.

My head isn't up anyone's ass... I made a statement that you chose to take personally. It's a factual statement no matter how you choose to look at it.

If you want to spin it that way, by all means. Quite frankly, I don't give a shit what religion he believes in or if he believes in one at all. It doesn't mean shit to me.

Please tell me... whose talking points did I just use? Nobody's, unless I have my own talking points. Now get your head out of your own ass.... what I said was a legitimate statement. If you don't know him personally, then you can't say that something was wrongly stated.

Me neither.:thumbup I just wonder why you are so open to the suggestion he is a Muslim in the face of glaring obvious evidence the other way?

I'm open to the possibility that he could be Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, or nothing at all. I don't give a shit, and it shouldn't be a big deal regardless.

So you're never going to mention his religious beliefs again, then?;)

I've never mentioned them before. I quite frankly just don't give a damn. My only point is that you (for Janie, I'm using the collective you) can't say that something is wrong or right in this situation without knowing the man personally. Past that, who gives a shit what his religion (or lack thereof) is.

If someone goes regularly to a Christian fundamental church and is a member of the said church, its a pretty safe bet to say the're not a Muslim.:24:

The survey showed that 20% of Americans believe President Obama to be a Muslim, but that figure rises to 34% if you only ask right-wing voters who desperately want to believe all the bad things you hear about President Obama.
