Re: Pet peeves ???

Cryptic statuses. You know the ones, where someone makes a provocative statement like 'fuck I am so done with all the lies, you know who you are' or 'some people aren't worth my time!!!!' and so on. Even worse, when everyone posts asking what's wrong and they 'oh I can't talk about it...'

Just tell us what you're on about, or stfu.
Fuck,..I am so done with this thread,...thread knows who I mean , its not worth my time ,...but I can't talk about it so I'm going to shut the Fuck up :p

Re: Pet peeves ???

Cyclists who cycle on the road, get to a red light but go anyway. If they got hit, it would always be the drivers fault, not the cyclist. If you are on the road, obey the freaking high way code!

Cyclists who cycle across the road on a green man MEANT FOR PEDESTRIANS!!

Cyclists who do not wear helmets or bright clothing in the dark.

People at work who could not organise a piss up in a brewery, never mind their patients at work so I end up with double the workload.

Rudeness, did your mother not teach you the words "please" and "thank you" or "excuse me?"

I could go on but I sound like a stuck up cow haha

Re: Pet peeves ???

I hate it when I go to a diner, and as the waitress gives me the food I ordered, she says "I think I'm coming down with the flu."

Well, no kidding! Now I might catch it!

So many people are ignorant in this way. If you have a cold, flu, or anything else that's contagious, spare the rest of us and stay home!

That's all very well if you get paid for being off sick. I spent four years in a job as a receptionist for a Dental Clinic where sick pay was discretionary, and that normally meant you didn't get any. Great if you can afford an unpaid week from the start to the end of a cold, but I doubt many waitresses are in that position.

Hell, so long as she's not sneezing into your food, it's not the end of the world.

Re: Pet peeves ???

If your forced to work even though you have a bad cold or flu, you don't have to tell the rest of us that you're sick. But so many people don't get this, and tell everyone that they're feeling under the weather.

I hate being called female, when I had long hair.
I hate being called a fox, despite being a wolf.

Supevisors on a power trip.
People who just have to congregate by the doors of a store, oblivious to the fact that they are impeding traffic in and out of the establishment.

Re: What are your pet peeves?

  • People who strive to ALWAYS fill awkward silences w/ meaningless chit-chat. Seriously...it's okay to be silent for a few seconds.
  • Knives being left in the sink w/ mayo or peanut butter still on them (particularly mayo, for some reason).
  • People who make "food noises" like "mmmmmmm" and "ooooooh, yummmmmm" while eating. It grosses me out.
  • Noisy eaters/bad table manners.
  • People who turn from a lane of traffic instead of getting into the turn or merge lane. GRR!!!
  • People who say "pacific" instead of "specific." Ooh, and "I could care less" instead of "I couldn't care less."
  • People who are overly silly. There's a difference between funny and silly.
  • People who talk during movies. If I've paid $$$ to see a movie at the theater I don't want to hear your conversations. Once the previews are over, shut up.
  • Overly negative and overly dramatic people. Seriously, I had a supervisor who, if her food was wrong, would bitch about it for the rest of our 12 hour shift. She bitched to me one day that her husband had brought her a Mt. Dew. She told him "Thanks, but I drink DIET Mt. Dew." He goes and gets her a Diet Mt. Dew the next day and she asks him why he got her such a big bottle.
  • People who post a shit ton of vague and dramatic Facebook statuses. I usually block these people's updates so I don't have to read them anymore, LOL
  • Pothead mentality. I don't mind people who smoke pot...I think it should be legal, actually. But walking around saying "420, man" and wearing Bob Marley shirts and shit just b/c there's a pot leaf on it is lame.

Re: What are your pet peeves?

People who mess up with grammar, such as "your" when it's supposed to be "you're".
People who change plans when I've built myself up to do a certain thing.
When my phone signal goes down, it's annoying.

At the moment? The voice is a real pet peeve of mine. It's just people shouting at each other, and then being judged by 4 people, three of whom can't sing themselves.

Re: What are your pet peeves?

People who post those stupid chain-mail facebook 'warnings' about privacy/paedophiles/child abuse.

Buttering something with a knife, and then leaving the knife flat on the side so butter gets onto the previously clean surface. Just balance the knife on the butter tub if you're not done with it.

The use of this smiley - ;) for anything other than actual flirting. It comes across as incredibly patronising.

People who don't use their indicators.

People changing my settings. I came into work after having one day, one single fucking day off work, and found my outlook program had been adjusted to someone else's view preference, and some inconsiderate scum had set Internet Explorer as the default browser when I've had it set as Chrome for as long as I've been here.

This is one of mine, too. I love my bestfriend to death, but when we make plans they get canceled or changed probably 70% of the time.

Re: What are your pet peeves?

Quite a few of you have listed things I would have put ;) (just for HK).

Additionally, people who yap away at you when you've got headphones on listening to things whilst using a computer. Yes, I understand you want to say something and want my attention. If you do, wave your hand or something rather than yapping away and expecting me to automatically notice you have something to say. All I hear is a faint mumbling. Especially annoying if I'm busy doing something and it's quite apparent I am.
