I really don't see what was distasteful honestly... I didn't make fun of the child...
Personally, I think it's a bad idea. For many reasons; people mean well, but they can often get in the way of the professionals. And if the child has been taken, alarming and panicking the kidnapper is never a good course of action. Why do you think that public appeals for information are always the last and most desperate action undertaken by the police?
Always the last? I don't think so, correct me if I'm wrong but they issue the amber alert as soon as the child goes missing right?
:homo::nod:I think it's a good way to get the information out ***IF*** the person posting it has checked it out and made sure that it's a legit broadcast. There are some circulating out there that have been circulating for YEARS and it's not even a valid missing person broadcast.

I would like to see Amber Alerts pushed to ALL mobile phones via text in the respective area code.
update: kid was killed by his mother (she overdosed him on cough syrup) and she was found in Massachusetts where she admitted to doing the crime. (State police found her in a rest stop and started asking her questions when she confessed doing the crime) she is in a Massachusetts hospital under psychiatric evaluation.
