I completely understand that argument Maulds, I do... But the two aren't quite the same.

The argument in the stripper thread was being made that not all strippers are prostitutes, drug users, unfaithful whores. There are some that are completely 180 degrees from that. A stripper does not equal dirty drug whore.

But, to be a Christian is to believe in the end of the world via a battle between God and Satan. There is no leeway there. For if you do not believe this, then you are not a Christian. It is one of the core beliefs of the Christian faith.

So she said that this guy was crazy for his belief, then paralleled that to Christians and Catholics.

It's much better to say "some" or "most" rather than "all".

Or sometimes, most times, and not "always"/"all the time"/"every" etc.

Breaking news!!!!

Apparently there was a mix up on the dates.

It's supposed to be June 21 and not June 12.

The organizing committee apologizes for any inconvenience caused.

You still have time to get your stuff together.
Please gather in a park near you on the day for lift off.
Donations will be collected for a good charity.

Spread the word.
Thank you.

It's not the argument being made that's the issue. She got offended by people (who didn't know her profession) calling strippers drug users and whores. Then she came here and said all Christians (knowing that we have several on the site) are crazy, knowing it would offend them. It's very hypocritical.

So it's ok to say that this guy in Texas is crazy but it's not ok to say Christians are crazy for also believing in the destruction of the world?

Actually it's those of you that call this guy crazy while holding the same beliefs that are hypocritical. :dunno

I guess this could go back and forth forever... It doesn't really matter, everyone here has differing points of view and different opinions. But to call someone hypocritical for having differing points of view goes no where fast.

Agree'd.

No one here thinks the world is going to end on June 12th or June 21st. So no one holds the same beliefs that this guy does in the context of their responses to the OP. The Bible says we are not to know when Christ will return, so I wonder what else this particular person is taking out of context when it comes to God's Word. I'm sure during WWII many believers were very certain the end was upon them. The TRUTH of the matter is no one knows when the demise of this planet will take place or how it will happen exactly. So yes, it is stupid what this particular video is saying.

Christians aren't to be concerned with when, we are to be focused on our walk and our behavior now.

Me especially, since that date already happened lol.

Exactly right. But the question seems to be, is this a purposeful event controlled by God or is it just the universe aging? Armageddon has always been portrayed as the wraith of God on disbelievers hasn't it? It's related to my other thread Is God Hands On? I'm not saying that divine intervention is not possible, but my belief is as a rule, shit happens. Be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and your going to be squashed like a bug, whether from a typhoon, a tornado, or the Earth being smacked by a killer rock.

And if the Earth is going to be smacked, I guarantee that high strung religious people will be certain, preaching it's payback for the sinners. But wait a minute, you mean God is going to wipe out the Earth to punish all of the righteous along with the sinners? Does not make sense to me, but then I remember God works in mysterious ways. ;)

No, before Armageddon begins, the "rapture" will take place and all that are "saved" will vanish from the earth and will be taken into heaven. They will be spared, it is only us heathen that will perish. :dunno
I would like to say that's crazy, but I don't want to ruffle anymore feathers.

So long as it's not wiped out in my lifetime I'm cool with that.
