Whoa a lot got posted in here since I was last in this thread.
Abrianna --- she's not being home schooled anymore. That was just until the end of the school year but when this year began (February) she went back to proper school. A new school, but proper school nonetheless.
Also, she doesn't seem to have a blanket fear of men. She fell madly in love with my sister's new boyfriend and his son when we went fishing with them not that long ago. She hugged him and swam with him and everything. I'm not 100% certain what her thoughts are with regards to prison for him or whether she thinks he's already there or what. I know she thinks bad people belong in gaol forever (we talk about things in the newspaper and on the news) but she has never specifically mentioned him and I haven't pushed that.
I don't think her trust in me would be damaged by anything that may happen with regards to his sentencing or not. I will *never* let him around her as long as I breathe and she can see that I would walk through fire for her. She knows that she is the centre of my world and that she is my everything. She knows.
On Monday, I am going to ask my therapist the best way to talk to her about his being caught. Monday after school will be when I will sit down with Soleil and we will discuss it. I'm not going to lie to her. I'm not going to give her false hope or promise her anything I can't deliver. I'll let you know how it goes.
Also, Soleil is 7 now

Update in case anyone was still interested in hearing ----
DNA results came back last week as "inconclusive". There was only one person's DNA and that was belonging to the carpenter. Soleil's DNA couldn't be conclusively proven to be there (nor anyone else's). Carpenter is claiming he bought the underpants from Best&Less "just to have" and that they never belonged to anyone. Having no concrete physical evidence, we're not able to lay any charges against him for anything other than the child pornography charges he is currently awaiting trial for. Not looking good in the justice for Soleil department, unfortunately.

It does really suck. Apparently her DNA not being on the underpants is bad news for our case. They can then say that he either really did buy the underpants himself, or that he took them from her room/laundry and not off her person, which gives reasonable doubt as to whether or not he actually did anything TO her. They will argue that he simply took underpants out of our laundry and did nothing further than that. Having no other physical evidence to fall back on, it's very hard for us to prove that this isn't what happened. Soleil's not talking, so we're pretty much up against a wall.

She did, yes, but no DNA was found on her person by the time she was examined. The defense will argue that it was an unfortunate coincidence that someone else r*ped Soleil at the same time that carpenter stole her underpants. And we have no way to prove that it wasn't an unfortunate coincidence.

God. I just wish there was something that would suddenly be noticed that may have been looked over that will give your little girl justice.
But I am glad to read she seems to be recovering emotionally. The not being afraid of guys thing is good.
