For myself, I really enjoy October for one reason, hockey season is back and I can get stressed out, cheer and yell... I also love observing how well they players are developing in the Oilers organization, who’s improving, who’s stepping up and who’s disappointing...

Well in September basically, Stone stepped it up, Schremp is not as great as he was touted, Eberle is going to be a stud when he’s ready, the other young players are doing decent and the veterans need a swift kick in the rear end. One thing I’m going to love this year is that accountability is going to be taken seriously. Before we had a player’s coach with MacT and his system was stale, his message is not getting across to them and player’s never really had a team mindset, they focused more on individuality. I just hope I don’t see one or two players being hot one night then cold the next game, I will seriously go to Rexall and kick their ass myself if I see that. I want to see a team with heart, a team with grit and a team with passion out there every night. That will make me happy.

I completely boycotted last season out of protest with MacT still being around, since he’s gone I can finally enjoy watching this team again without getting more white hair, I seriously had five white hairs from the 2007 season also 2008, those days are over. *shudders* WHY didn’t they actually fire him in 2006 when we all knew his days were over, one cup run, huge deal when game 7 was lost.

Every single player needs to really step it up this season, I’m going to be happy to see them on the ice again, I’m particulary going to watch the top six forwards and maybe a couple of guys in the 3rd and 4th lines. I’m not too concerned about the defense at the moment, as long as they are healthy then I believe they’ll be alright. I’m so freaking happy that we don’t have Roloson anymore, yes he might’ve been very decent and the best player out there on game night but honestly... the team in front of him was playing crap, he’s average and slow... also very soft on the top corners and the rebounds he has are meh. The Bulin wall will be interesting but I am a bit tired of getting aged goaltenders, sure they are reliable but as time goes on, their speed slows. I do like the mask he’s sporting though.

Now the magnifying glass we Edmontonians love putting on a player, this season it will be Penner and Comrie, every move of theirs is going to be watched, every mistake they make they will know about it. The pressure is on for these two, I’ll find it very amusing this season. I don’t like Comrie but I will be an adult and do what I was taught which was if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all, I might need duct tape for that actually.

What I’m worried and concerned about this season really needs to be addressed... face offs, that is going to be a killer for this team if they still act the way they do in the circle and lose the draw. I wouldn’t mind if special teams was a lot more better as well, they’ll still have inconsistence’s which will make me frustrated but hey it can’t get any worse than it already is, right? I also worry about size and grit in this team, we have many small forwards which can be pushed around easily and having injuries always bothered me since it brings my memories back to the AHL team we iced in 2007. Mac and Zach should help in that area a bit, also Souray and if only... Penner.

This will be a better season, I am so happy about Quinn. I love his attitude and his interviews. Playoff bound? Oh my god I will orgasm if they actually make it in the playoffs.

Okay, the first Oiler game of the season is coming up very soon... I also found out that there's a little milestone race between Souray and Hemsky...

Hemsky is 7 goals away from having a career 100...

Souray is 8 goals away from having a career 100...

:D

He's from the Elk Point area, I know quite a few people who are related to the dude. Yeah, he's a stud when it comes down to the PP, one hell of a great slapshot :D

Pfffft.... women can go after him all they want, I rather just watch him play on the ice and get excited when he's at the point...

I don't like being a puck bunny, lol... guilty for obsessing over Ovechkin though.

I wonder which defense will do better... Calgary or Oilers... Oilers have to stay healthy though :(

really , that motherfucker is ugly, highly talented but in bad need of a new mouthfull of teeth

my money is on the Oil

Oh come on, he may be ugly, he may have no teeth, he may have a lot of facial hair, he may remind me of a werewolf but he's still a great player, I also like his personality... there's more to him than those mother can only love looks :D

I don't know yet, both our top 4's are decent... they have two studs with Phaneuf and Jay-Bo... we have Souray... also Vis should surprise a bunch of people if he remains healthy...

Alright watching the Oilers getting slaughtered by the Sharks, Marleau already got a goal and Heatley got a helper *groans* this is going to be very painful to watch... the whole Heatley mess this summer was a huge headache...

Basically Heatley demanded to be traded, he had a no trade clause in his contract, he gets around 7 million per year which is a lot for hockey players, ummm... he also told Ottawa the 5 teams he wanted to be traded to. Ottawa traded Heatley to the Oilers for a steep price, then Heatley said he didn't want to go there... he waited, waited... after a certain amount of time he got his 4 million bonus paycheque... waited, waited and the Oilers tried very hard on acquiring him but he would not come to Edmonton... then Edmonton gave up, screwing up Oilers PR very badly... another star player not wanting to play for the Oilers... then Heatley got traded to the Sharks since he won't play for the Senators and now he is loathed... very very loathed by two Canadian cities... Edmonton and Ottawa.

I wish the Oilers would put a hell a lot more effort into this game tonight, they aren't even fighting the corners for the puck... Sharks have complete puck control and it's a huge snoozefest watching my team float... soooo glad I hardly watched any games this season, before I thought it was coaching that was the huge problem since we changed the players so many times in the recent years... now... I'm really pissed off at management, especially Lowe. Katz better do something about this team because I see no solution other than blowing this project up and start over... *sniffs* I miss having a decent team, it's been sooo long.... I can't believe all the shit that went on since 2006... we hit the very huge high's and this is the lowest of low's, even if they get down to the bottom 5 in the league they are doing it at a weak draft year... I think this year is weak compared to the past few.
