Obama has committed his second impeachable and criminal bribery in just two weeks time. First he bribed a democrat to not run against Specter in Pennslyvania by promising him he would make him secretary of the navy if he dropped out of the race. That is a felony.

Now he has congressman Jim Matheson at the white house to convince him to change his vote on the healthcare monstrosity and lo and behold, he just coincidently appointed the congressman's brother to the federal bench on the same day as that meeting.

Obama turned down Scott Matheson's request to be appointed to that position back in June. He wasn't good enough then but now that Obama needs another vote he gets the lifetime appointment.

"Whoever solicits or receives … any….thing of value, in consideration of the promise of support or use of influence in obtaining for any person any appointive office or place under the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both." -- 18 USC Sec. 211 -- Bribery, Graft and Conflicts of Interest: Acceptance or solicitation to obtain appointive public office

If this is true then impeach him..

But keep in mind his replacement will be the Vice President ( or next in line ) in the Democrats and not anyone else..

I think it ridiculous to say people are opposing Obama because we "weren't ready for a black President."

Does anyone remember the vile and hateful shit and personal attacks that people of the opposition threw at the President for the previous 8 years?? So did all of THOSE people hate Bush because he was white?

Some people have very short memories, it seems.

Think what you like. I call 'em as I see 'em. I'll go one step further. Your country will never be ready for a black President.

No. Many hated him because he is a bumbling fool.

Some people have very short memories, it seems.

Yes they do.

Hopefully the left won't get what they want. Then the rest of the year they can chase their tail and whine about the right stopping them when they had a super majority. Now you know why the Anointed One wanted this done last fall. The more people see of this garbage plan the left schemed the more people hate it.

Pelosi has a friggin 3% approval rating. She is acting like she has a mandate. Politicians are such morons. Amazing how in little over a year people will turn on them and they don't even notice. Obama could have been a hero and the democrats had a lock on power for years if they had worried about the jobs and economy. Instead they proved they are as partisan as ever and power hungry and it all is gone.

.... We're poised for what amounts to be a government takeover of 1/6th of our economy, it's a disaster waiting to happen....

Government takeover? The only people that can possibly take this statement seriously are tea baggers.
There is nothing in this bill that even remotely resembles a "take-over" not even close.

My company pays 100% of my health insurance, well over $1100 a month to cover me and my family. Once this bill is signed into law, I will still have Aetna, I will still be going to the same doctors I have now, I will still be covered by my employer and I will know that I can get affordable coverage if my industry implodes. Exactly how is government taking over my health care? How is this going to destroy your current health care benefits?

If you ever want people to take you seriously in the health care debate, you need to leave the talking points at home.

Wow, seriously? Give it a rest with the pathetic, and not to mention petty insults. Like I've stated on many occasions previously, you obviously don't have much of a clue as to how the health care industry works. This is a take over in that it is making laws to strictly regulate and control an industry that accounts for approximately 1/6th of the economy of the United States. The United States Government is effectively mandating rules and regulations for the entire health care industry, telling them what they can and cannot do. The last I checked that was a takeover. They're not taking the companies themselves over, but they're taking over the processes involved in health care.

Part of the bill effects how health care providers are reimbursed for services both by private health insurance providers as well as government run MediCare and MediCaid. As we've discussed before, there are many doctors out there who are saying that there is a good chance that they will retire early if this legislation is passed. My dad, who is coming up on his 19th year in private practice has already stated that he won't be able to afford to stay in private practice if he continues to see MediCare patients with all of the MediCare cuts that are planned as part of this legislation. As a result, he's more than likely going to switch to a very low patient load and he's actually just been informally offered a position running a residency program, which he will do in addition to seeing a nominal amount of patients (as is required for the head of a residency program) as well as continuing his consulting work for clinics and software companies.

There are physicians all around the country that are saying similar things, although most of them don't have the opportunities that he does, or they're at the end of their careers and are considering simply retiring.

My other question is what is so important about this legislation that it has to be passed in secret the way they're trying to do. Why are Pelosi and Co. trying to use Deem and Pass to pass the legislation? Why can't they bring it to a vote? Because they know that a majority of them are going to lose their jobs if they don't, and hell... a lot of them probably will anyway. This is the most unpopular piece of legislation since the Kansas-Missouri act of 1854 which led to the creation of the Republican party and eventually to the Civil War. But they don't care, the Democrats obviously think that they know what's best for the country, so we're going to get it whether we like it or not.

Woah wait a second here, here's what Biden says about Health Care. "You know we're going to control the insurance companies". So did he just misspeak? Or is he just an idiot that doesn't know what he's talking about? I'm waiting for the Obama apologists to get out here and tell me that Biden is just clueless and what he says doesn't matter. But you all know that if this was four years ago, people would be jumping all over those comments if they were made by Cheney.

But you know, they're not trying to take over the health care industry or anything.

When this process started over a year ago I am sure the liberals were euphoric and full of thoughts that they would be in power for the unforeseeable future. This is all about taking down the insurance companies bit by bit. First you make everybody sign up and then after your bullshit proposal does not curb costs then the last solution is a single payer govt takeover. Because this proposal would do nothing to controls costs (except for medicare) and the left will spin it that insurance was proven to not work and single payer is the only way to go.

I would have had some degree of respect if the left had been honest and this was their intent from the beginning. It was plain to see for those not wearing the Obama rose colored glasses.

But a year of liberal bullshit is enough to convince the majority of what troubles lie ahead if this path continues so see ya later Speaker Pelousey. And have fun in the private sector Dipstick Harry

And somebody tell me what on earth does student loans have to do with health care. Just another way to get the feds control of one more entity.

Your complaint is pretty thin skinned.

My comment is based in fact, whether you choose to believe it or not. When an entity claims ownership over how an entire industry can do business in all facets; it cannot be anything other than a takeover of the industry.

Thanks for playing though.

You haven't presented any

What started this was your whining about being insulted. I've seen real insults and telling someone to leave their talking points at home hardly qualifies if you are an adult. I've contributed enough on the subject.

The only thing I've seen you contribute in this thread is taking shots at me because you disagree with me. Furthermore, I wasn't whining, I made a statement that the pathetic and petty insults should be dropped. I was accused of using "talking points", which I stated was not the case.

But hey, you keep going after me instead of actually contributing anything.

If you are using the term, "government take-over of health care", then you are either
A. Using a talking point
B. Exaggerating you point
C. Uneducated and don't comprehend what a take-over really means.

I guess it's possible that you were exaggerating your point by calling it a government take-over. But I would still call you on it. C was never a possibility, you come across much smarter than that.
But the term "Government take-over" has been thrown out so much by the opposition over the last year, it's easy to see why people will parrot the term when they themselves are opposed to the change.

So I will stick by my initial statement that you were marginalizing yourself by parroting talking points that were very carefully thought up by the republican party since there is no proposed "take-over"
