I am asking this question in ALL seriousness. What makes people think Obama is responsible for the economy?

What makes people overlook the trillions we spent on the war?

I mean I will accept it as valid if some one can give me a good reason.

I would actually LOVE it if some one could so I could stop thinking that everyone who said it was just a racist bigot or a crazy right winger.

Who better to blame than the current president even if he inherited the problem? North Americans love to blame someone for their problems. Anyone will do except themselves.

The number is in the billions, not trillions. I forget the exact number but it's either 3 or 6 TRILLION that has been spent on ALL wars fought by the U.S. of A. In any event it's more money than anyone here can fathom and it's easily forgotten by those that are brainwashed into believing the U.S. is doing the right thing(s) today.

There are a lot of brainless, easily influenced excuses for human beings running around. ;) Honestly most of people's thinking is philosophically/prejudicially/partisan motivated in combination with imperfect choices for leadership.

I don't think there are any educated people out there blaming Obama for today's economy except for the previous reason stated. Most of the Republican's in leadership positions I hear are saying "don't let Obama spend this pile of money health care reform" they are not saying it was Obama who is responsible for the economy today are they? Or are they?

For one thing, the war spending did not create any of the economic woes of today. If anything, it artificially propped up the economy to hide the collapsing credit and housing markets. Yes there were large sums of money spent on the military, but that money goes directly to manufacturing, military pay and other contracts which pumps money into the US economy.

Second, A good deal of what happens with the economy on any given day is based on CONFIDENCE. Investors and consumers alike make decisions about where their money goes based on how the feel the future of the economy will play out. Seeing our current President spend Trillions (with a T) on new programs with no explanation of where the revenue will come from is a very unsettling thing. Investors are more and more wary that our system will be able to handle all this new debt.

It's like watching a familiy member who's deep in debt get a new credit card and run it up to the limit as their means of solving their problem, and then asking you for a loan to help them get by - with a promise to pay you back quickly. You probably wouldn't feel very good about handing over your cash.

I'd love it if Obama and Congress would quit trying to claim responsibility for the economy and wash their hands of the whole thing. Oh, and close the Fed. Then watch the markets take off. It's the unpredictability of Obama ignoring the rule of law that's hurt or recovery more than anything else, imo.

We have been running deficits for years. Does not seem to faze Obama based on his reckless spending that makes Bush look like a piker.

Obama is not responsible for the current economic situation but come next summer he will be. His failed policies will kill any chance at a decent recovery.

just to add my 2 cents....becuase ...hey who else ya gonna listen to

its not just obama its the entire make-up of the government and our fualts

they pass bills without reading them, throw money at stupid shit cuase its not their money, we dont keep a shorter leash on them....pork,pork,pork.....help me win, and ill throw you a al large bone with lots of zeros on it

Our country is run by the corporations. Once we get the power back from them, we will have a chance at having the government work for us again... until then, nothing will change
