No one sold me on anything, I am an atheist. However, I am arguing from a theist position for the hell of it because a lot of atheist arguments aren't that great when it comes to some things.

Plus George can blabber all he wants he can't understand the will of god anyways no one can

i think george was always quite clear on his inability to understand the will of god and some of his best comedy came from his musings over that very lack of understanding of if god was the way he was being told by the priests who were probably fondling his nuts as a kid, why would he willfully cause so much horrible shit to happen too?

Your "Who knows" is a good theist argument??

Perhaps you had better argue from your non theist position. Your theist one is quite poor compared to the non theist reverse positions I have seen.

You are just ending up looking as stupid as theist do.

I was just glad to hear he's against genocide. He had me going for awhile. ;)

I do not know what to think of one who teaches theists how to defend their own un-defendable dogma.

Non theists are usually more advanced than theists so I think it rather immoral for a non theist to feed their delusion and keep them in the dark while saner people are trying to help them shed their delusions.

He is promoting delusional thinking or I may be wrong and he is generating posts where theists look silly in order to teach them they are wrong.

I believe in honesty and would not do what he does.

Perhaps I am too cynical but sometimes I wonder how many religious leaders are really nonbelievers doing just that.

John Shelby Spong is a man of integrity imo. He has had the courage to push for reform. He's a good example that spirituality and reason can mix.
