UPDATE: been 5 days now since i got it pierced. it's healing well, although my tongue is funky colored and yesterday i was playing with it and accidentally got it stuck between my teeth and ripped it a little! OUCH. the swelling's gone down tremendously and i'm finally mastering how to eat and talk with it! i love it so far. i just can't wait for it to heal and not look so nasty!

it depends.. if you get your septum pierced.. yes they are going through cartilage lol if you get either side of the nose pierced.. ive heard its sort of like a pimple lol

oh holy shit. OUCH! now, i have a VERY high pain tolerance but that would probably make me queasy, and it takes a lot to do that. :willy_nilly:

another update: went up tp threshold (the place i got it pierced at and where i've had the majority of my tattoos/piercings done) and jake, my piercer, took a look at my tongue. he agreed with me. i did quite a number on ripping it. apparently it's bigger than i thought originally. he said it should heal fine and eventually close up around the bar, so i'm happy. i just have to stop playing with it, or as jake said "be gentle!" haha. it's not infected and the discoloration is just from the mouthwash and will go away too. so i am happy right now.

If you want rid of the wierd colour, just use salt water to wash your mouth out.

Even non alcoholic mouthwash leaves that wierd green, like your tongue has been licking the top of a stagnant pond.

it honestly didn't hurt. the worst part of it was when the needle goes through, it makes your eyes water like you're crying. plus, you can actually see the needle since it's right in your face. but i'm not afraid of needles and i have a very high pain tolerance too so i'm probably the wrong person to ask. :24: it was one of the least painful of my piercings though!

LOL! seriously, don't do it if you don't want to. even though, you know, you can always take it out if you don't like it. it was just like a pin-prick and then it was over. the healing wasn't bad AT ALL. it was barely tender, but did get just a tiny bit swollen. it was one of the fastest healing ones too.

hahaha actually no! it was probably the least painful of all my piercings!

I pierced my ear when I was 15 & let it close. Since then the only piercing I've experience is the occassional scream, but those hurt badly enough.

the actual piercing didn't hurt, but it's healing now and all swollen and sore and it takes me about an hour to eat anything, but i'm getting better! and i'm not talking with a lisp anymore, hahaha. i'm up to 17 piercings now!
