RE: ModdedMustangs.com in a crisis

Bossman is on to something there. But not donations necessarily. I've been working on a lottery or a raffle of some srort that a percentage goes back to the site. I have a pretty detailed and fair way to run one all figured out, but I haven't tryed it yet. Different priced tickets for different priced prizes. You can only have small prizes for a small site, but as the members increase, so can the prizes. Now instead of getting vendors to pay you to advertise, you pay them for a liitle banner on their site that reads something like. Example: You go to BBK and have a little banner that reads, "come join the raffle to have a chance to win a free ste of BBK Long Tube Headers" ....your banner take them to your site and your raffle with multiple products being raffled off.

i hope the right guy inquires about the admin position over at MM. id love to see the site grow and prosper much like MF has since last year when i joined there. with more advertisement (not necessarily paid ads- word of mouth is good for a start), people will visit the site and maybe join. with a creative and dedicated leader for the site who can become totally devoted to growth, the site will receive exponential growth in advertisement as well as a large member base. it all takes time. hopefully time will be on your side joe in finding a new admin for MM. best of luck with it.

Contributions wouldnt neccessarily have to be n money form either. We could accept, for example, tickets to a racing event to raffle off or popular products. really just anything that might be desired by one person or the next.

Maybe somebody will step up, I hope so. My goal for MM was to have a huge collaboration of how-to's, articles, performance calculators, etc. That just can't happen without help. Members have to submit most of those things, and someone has to put them on web pages. I want to do it and I've spent some time on it... but Im embarassed that its sitting there incomplete. Either all or nothing, I won't have a half ass site.

Joe, everything takes time. Unfortunately I am not mechanically inclined, nor do I have anymore extra time than you. But, dont give up on it. Even if it grows slowly, it still grows. No need to kill it, slow progession is ok...IMO.

The structure is already there, the need is someone with the capability of learning dreamweaver and having a desire to make something great.

For anyone with the desire....Dreamweaver is one of the easiest programs to use! If you can navigate in any MS OFfice program, and a picture editing program, you already have the basic skills needed. You dont have to know html, or if you do, you can implement items that way as well. I love Dreamweaver!! I used to work for an auction company and created and maintained their website using Dreamweaver for over 2 years. I created a new page for ever auction. There are plenty of resources out there to teach you what you dont know.

If it were this time last year I'd be laid off and would LOVE the chance to help. Does the job pay?? I'll quit my job if you can match my salary!! :rock

Just joking...I know thats not possible. I'm just trying to offer some encouragement to someone that has the heart, but may be afraid to work on the site itself!

RE: ModdedMustangs.com in a crisis

I'd really like to see someone step up for MM.com too, as I've been hoping it would get off the ground. I'd love to see the tech articles and such, especially for v6s because I am really interested in making my stang into something great.

I think Chris would be AWESOME at the job, but Amanda certainly wouldn't be happy to let him go over there, and he just doesn't have the time. We've got our hands full with the 05 owners over at MF, they take up half the day with their whining. lol.

Best of luck, I hope the project stays alive.

RE: ModdedMustangs.com in a crisis

Ok, tpo nbe totally truthfull ight now. Im watsed cause it was my buddys 21st firthday tonight. But you all know very well i work on Mustanbgs all day at work. I push 80 hours a week. I bust my ass and i know ,y shit. Problem is i cant come home at night and work on a website. But im thinking i can contribute a zillion tech articles. MD... you know this. I can change anytihng on youre Stang... i can mod antihng you want. But im thinking this is gonna have to be a groupe contribution. You cant jhave just one person running this entire MM.com website by themselves. YOU NEED MORE THAN ONE PERSON. So... Me and MD.. and more people if they know what they are doing... and a few people riunning the place is all it needs. I honestly belive what you said about MF.com... its just poelkple telling other people what they "think" thats all. I couldnt belive the amount of thanks i got when just publishing simple TSB! and RECALLS. It was amazing... and when someone had a code... i knew exactly what it was and told them the fix. they thanked me so much and i felt great for helping people out. I am a FORD/toyota tech and i have all access to FORD manuals, TSBS, RECALLS, everything you ever wanna kno0w. BUT we all need to work together to get this going.

And i could tell you exact torque specs.... well everything possible. too bad i live in a state NOT anywhere close to you guys or i could mod youre cars for you... free of charge. I just assisted putting heads, and intake on Jmac's car over at MF.com. I go to Kyles ( OB) 's house all the time and help mod his car. I love working on Mustangs and im proud of what i do for a living. I like helping out people as well. I have a 98 GT, my dad has a 97 Cobra. I have had 72 MAch1, 91 GT. I can work on all of them and i know what to look for when stuff goes wrong. And its not everyday you see a technician come to a Forum site and help out.

RE: ModdedMustangs.com in a crisis

good intake tube. they are truely all the same. Think about it. Youre only letting air come in through a pieces of tubing. BUT you dont want metal intake turbing because it heats up pretty fast. If you do have one next time you run youre car hard... just touch it. SO stock it good personally i think so. BUt it could be a touch bigger. SO any kinda plastic tubing is a good choice. Now its up to you in youre price range. You can buy a kit from a company or you can make youre own... like homemade. I put a cold air induction kit homemade on my Ford Taurus. worked good... sounds prety cool.. lol.
