Is it ever okay for a man to cry?

Interested to hear this from both the male and female view points. And from any hermaphrodites we have here too.

Do man tears make you go "grow a pair" or do they make you think "aw, this guy has a tender side"

Obviously I don't mean man tears as in "I've just been kicked in the knackers"

I think it does show a softer side. As long as he is not always crying over everything then it's alright lol.

It is so nice to see it sometimes.
BUT I also really need a manly man too.
So I guess I kinda like it both ways :p

Yes, it is okay for a man to cry.

Good reasons: Death of a loved one, Birth of a child, Watching an emotional part in a movie, If in extreme pain, just to name a few.

Stop trying to confuse me.
Basically - I don't want someone who's more emotional than me.
And i'm pretty frickin emotional
but a tear or two from time to time is good.
so you just stop pickin at me.
I'm multi-tasking :p

i get turned off when men cry, but thats only if they are real cry baby types... now if they cry during death or because i am leaving them...lol...then its ok for me to see them cry. i like my men to be men. stiff upper lip and all. but if i kick them in the nuts and they cry then i'll be all like 'ew, you cried...what the fuck is wrong with you. you're supposed to be a man.'

lol....k got it...no crying.

Its ok for a man to cry. I mean, ive done it before. Obviously the usual family deaths have caused it. But other things too, sad films, TV programs.

I think there are certain instances where I would feel uncomfortable if a man didn't cry.... I was at a funeral and the son of who passed away didn't shed a tear. I was blubbering like a baby and he was just like a statue. I felt so awkward...

I don't like cry babies (male or female) but I don't think man tears are a bad thing. Everyone has to let loose sometimes!

Circumstances...any man who says he doesnt cry is a liar.....i know you guys give the act of being a hard shell, but you guys have feelings too....possibly not as much as us girls, speaking personally i cry at anything, but thats cuz i take everything personally...
I think that its ok to cry..i dont find it uncomfortable..i find it human.

It's perfectly okay for men to cry, as much as it is ok for women to cry. There are always instances that warrant crying, for men or women.

I don't expect anything different from either gender. Treat 'em equally, I say.

i tend to let emotion pile up inside me for a long time and thats not good. some times i cant cry even if i know i have too. i dint cry at my grand mothers memorial when she died almost 2 years ago. i dint cry when i went outside and saw my neighbor dead in her garden. but those 2 things hit me so hard and i let it build up for a while. i know my grandmother is in a better place and shes not suffering but going outside and seeing my neighbor dead in her garden is still taking its toll on me to this day. i cant get over it.

so yeah i cry when i cant take it anymore and just let it out. but i try not to do it around people
