Man sentenced to death in the abduction, murder and rape of 9-year old girl

I'm gonna say one thing, and then stay out of this one. You people are all saying "Burn his ass, torture him, give him a slow painful death".

That makes you people no better than what he did.

Of course this is a horrible thing, very sad, and that girl didn't deserve any of it, but no matter what we do to this man, it will NOT bring her back. And you have to think, even though he did all that to the little girl, imagine what kind of guilt he must be feeling. Knowing that he did that to a little girl, and that he's going to die for it. I can't even imagine what he must be feeling right now.

I agree with the first part of what you say though in the second part, I somehow doubt someone that evil has real feelings of guilt for what he did.

Using your childhood woes as an excuse for your adult misbehaviors is such a cop-out. An adult is responsible, no matter what sorrows they had as a child.
really for the most part a legal way of not taking responsibility their action, no mater how good or bad their childhood was and their not all bad but of course in court dad rapped me mom watched.

No, she didn't. But he does deserve whatever he gets. That's what makes us different from him. He wants to torture a 9 year old, we want a sick, twisted, pathetic excuse for a human put to death.

I wonder what happend in this man's life to make him do what he did? Most likely abuse as a child himself.

I have to say, that many many people who were abused as children themselves, don't go on to then abuse others'. It doesn't work like that.

I would never ever, dream of thinking their way, let alone do anything and nor would other ppl who have gone through such horrific circumstances. I know many ppl that have been abused who are in general, the nicest ppl I have ever met, the kindest to others' I have ever known etc etc...

I hope more people will learn to understand that it is a fact that it doesn't work like that, as time goes by. :)

God, I didn't think this would become a debate. I only need to say that I always oppose death penalty, no matter what the person did. I have given my reasons before.
About him being a victim in his childhood, it's very likely. Some victims develope guilt, thinking that they actually provoked what happened, and when they grow up, they want to punish the kid they were by hurting other kids. We do not know if that is the case, it doesn't matter reallly, that wouldn't make him legally insane, though my opinion may differ.

To say they were abused, felt guilt and therefore felt they had to do it to other children - that's an extremely sick, warped 'excuse' that has bn thought up by such an evil excuse of a human, that that started.

Yes, children who have bn abused, do sometimes at the time feel it is a punishment for being naughty, believing they must have done something wrong to get treated in that horrific way, but they have not.

There is no 'excuse' and never will be.

I was not excusing him, just sharing my knowledge on the matter

Oh no sorry, you read that in the wrong way that it was intended Maria.

It was meant the other way, that those who do that to children say those things to 'excuse' what they did, not as though you were saying that to excuse them. Sorry hun. :)
