Living situation ?

What is your current living situation ? Do you rent ? Have mortgage ? Have a house that is paid for ! Are you happy where you are ? Will you be moving soon ?

i currently own 6 houses plus a camp/cottage on the beach. We live in one and of course use the camp/cottage, the rest are rented.

We are currently, slowly but surely, selling off each house. Our current house that we live in is very small and our neighbours have become unbearable so we will be moving asap. When we first bought this house to live in is was on the whim that a smaller house would be less maintenance and the neighbourhood quiet. We were or i should say I was wrong as it was my choice and pick 100%. Since we moved here neighbors have moved in next door and are never quiet. its constant wood working and hammering as they are retired and thats all they do is wood work. Then to top it off, it wasn't a brilliant idea to go from a 6 bedroom house to a very small three plus den house...let me put the size into perspective...we went from living in a 2800 plus square foot house to a 1300 square foot house...NOT a good idea. Half of our items are still unpacked and will remain unpacked until we are able to find another house that we enjoy and fits us.

so i can't wait to sell up and get the hell out of dodge. I want to leave not only the houses but the city i am in and head back down south to Toronto where rednecks are tourists and most houses are made of brick.

Yeah...I pay $419 a week for day care for two boys. The sad thing is that is not the most expensive place where I live. I have thought about hiring a baby sitter, but they know what the rates are for day care and they charge a just a little less for services. Not to mention, you can't guarantee that they will be available every day.

Ultimately if the house is too small yet you love it and the area so much, I'm guessing either you're going to have to deal with the space requirements as is or build an addition.

Perhaps, but consider yourself lucky that you know where you want to live and you're going to take the measures to enjoy it even more so down the road. Hopefully the PITA time put into it will be worth it and you can enjoy it until your old. Added the fact that hopefully you'll do nothing but add value to the home. Would be a bummer though if you finished and the neighborhood went to hell LOL

Sooner or later I have a monster of a deck system that I will need to replace that I'm not looking forward to. Replaced the upper two sections once, and found some great (AKA very expensive) stain that cuts down on the pressure washing/re staining, but it's still going to be there waiting for me in a couple of years and I don't like to think about it.

We bought an Amish farm and sold the house,barn and 46 acres off. Kept 107 acres and built a custom rancher on top the mountain. Have a 3/4 mile long lane and the ultimate privacy and view for miles. Have turned it into our own little paradise where we can be self sufficient for almost all our needs. The only drawback is the 50 miles to hospital and cancer center. The house is built to take us into old age with handicap accessible doors throughout and very energy efficient.

This is an old post.... My husband and I own two duplexes and live in one side of one of them. We also own an acre of property we intend on building a house which we will live in, hopefully for the rest of our lives, but building said house has hit one snag after another and hasn't happened.....sigh.

Since I struggle with a disability in the form of mental illness, I still live with my parents at the age of 33. I never thought I'd be living with my parents at that age. But I can't complain since so many have it worse than I do.

My husband and I live on our sailboat. He built it himself but took out loans to start the build in the first place. We should have those bills paid off by next year we hope. Aside from that we pay less than $400 a month in moorage plus whatever power is each month. A marina less than a KM away is more than double that price. So, for being pretty well situated in Vancouver it's one of the best deals in town.

Rent a cute 3 bed house in a cul-de-saq, in a nice neighborhood filled with kids that are our kids' ages. I like it, but we're out growing it. I hope to buy a house next year to last us through most of their school years... then who knows?

I live in a 3 family house. I have a one bedroom apartment in a super nice neighborhood and it takes me 6 minutes to get to work so I'm not complaining...yet....

However, I miss having a yard and outdoor space, so I think I'm gonna look elsewhere when my lease is up

I have a friend from high school who I later found out was homeless at one point. So I can't complain about my current living situation.

House is paid for. Still fixing it up. It is too big though. Would like to downsize in the future and hit the road for a spell with a little cottage size house to come back to. I really like where I am at. It is and has always been home no matter how far away I moved temporarily.
