I wouldn't say energy can retain experience, because it would require far more than it's capable of, mechanically. That's my whole basis of not being convinced by the idea of reincarnation and things like that.

As far as the fan goes, I would disagree that the air is programmed because of the experience, the air is just moving because the fan is pushing it. I think the air is passive in this scenario.

This is where it gets into the science of energy, and I am not educated in the field.

Bad analogy =/ Oh well, something to think about! for both of us! My question is...who/what is the fan? thanks for the thought provoking question

I do feel like it's not so much a living breathing monster of revenge that stalks us, but more our own conscience and sanctity of soul that can be damaged. I like what you said about being doomed to repeat our actions till we learn from them.

I won't go into specifics but suffice to say, with my ex we broke up for a lot of reasons, partly aided by something I got involved in. I should have known better, but I went along with it anyway. I almost found myself going down the same slippery slope recently with my boyfriend, and I stopped myself because I then had a few things go wrong in my life that made me think 'look at what's important to you and then stop dicking around'. So I did.

Definitely agree with you on that fist part...we are both on the same page as far as the ying and the yang of the world :)

I just had a VERY similar experience with my boyfriend. I have finally mustered up enough courage and dignity to say that I did ruin my last relationship. I, like you, saw myself doing the same thing this time around, and changed my behavior before I did it again!

How is that going for you? Do you find it hard to not fall back into your old ways...? I am struggling with it, but have caught myself so far. Hoping I don't mess up :(

It is hard, to a degree. I think it's easier than it might be because now I see how my behaviour in my old relationship, whilst not being the exact reason it ended, didn't help at all and quite signifcantly contributed to me neglecting to try and work on the existing problems.

I think at the time as well, I thought what I was doing was ONLY a symptom of things being wrong, rather than a contributing factor. Whereas now I can admit that if I'd stopped myself, I probably could have saved things.

On the other hand though - I don't wish I had. I see that I could have, but I believe we weren't really good for each other in the end anyway. So I believe it should have happened, and the experience has helped me see how to not fuck up the relationship I now have :)

Well, kudos to you then! :) It's helped me as well, and I'm happier than I have been in a while

i believe we came from the planet Romulus brought here by little green men who speak Klingon, on a starship headed by Mr. Spock. We crash landed here during a 7 year mission exploring the last frontier but then we were invaded by an evil entity known as The Vader. We then sought the help of fuzzy woodland creatures called The Ewoks and that is how we came to be!

We then sought to take back to the skies and were followed by a giant bowling ball called The Death Star and a giant Rubix cube piloted by lifeless relentless cold beings called the wife.. I mean The borg. While we were being chased by 80s nostalgia and a senior citizens leisure time we jumped into warp speed only to crash into a huge non planet called The Pluto... pluto was dark and desolate. From the ground we saw the two moons that seems to circle the baron rock The Minnie and Mickey. We have yet to escape this desolate world. i have constructed this lap top I am posting from, from a bunch of moon rocks and a few twigs. Lt. Mary Ann and Lt ginger went on a 3 hour tour to find food!

Oh and somehow the shirt tails were involved...

Where we come from: I refuse to believe that everything that is emanated from everything that wasn't and never was.

What we're doing: Dancing to a tune, where the composer knows how the tune will end - but we don't.

Where we go: Exploring the music hall. So many different compositions to explore, enough to last many lifetimes over and not even have begun to scratch the surface.

Hopefully, I explained my belief without naming a religion although it's probably obvious ;)

I don't like saying I believe anything because belief is an emotional bias and I don't like mixing science with who I am personally.

People are not much smarter than they were 5000 years ago. Society is broken into two types of social mentalities: Scientists and everyone else. The scientists design the functions of society and everyone else follows the rules and laws of societies and go to work and live their lives.

Different age groups like teenagers, young adult, middle age, and old age all think they've found the secrets to life and understand everything. Beliefs and values in a direct idea are nonsense because they constantly change based on how your perspective changes. The only certainty in life is that things change, therefore we must find in what essence that is a constant truth. Based on that, why be stubborn and think you know everything? Change skepticism to optimism.

People who do believe in something should be open to all challenges, or else they are turning their back on full faith. Contentment in ignorance I think is the ultimate sin because your intention is directly and willfully unproductive. Donnot tell others what to do or what to believe. Open your opinion to them if they ask. Realize you were once them. All people around you and the way you perceive the world is a mirror reflection of your own life.

Essentially I have faith in the moment. It is the only time that ever existed or will ever exist. Memory is only a lesson learned required for survival. A philosophical question: You're driving and a car just nearly misses you. You are exhilerated because you could have been killed, but what you donnot realize is you are not in danger at all...you are panicking in a safe moment. You're not in danger because the car missed you...focus on the moment.

I get what you mean here...so do you agree that since the only thing we know for sure is that change is constant? So...my theory on souls and growing and what not, do you feel it has some basis in that all we know is we know nothing and have to keep venturing on until we get it?

:clap:clap Completely agree with you here. While I have my own thoughts and opinions on the matter, the truth is, I am just as in the dark as everyone else out there. To think otherwise, and to then force my beliefs on someone is ignorant an naive. Unfortunately, it is a tactic that many religions use now adays, and it makes me angry!

I don't think we should know everything, but we should strive for it. I think living life with the view that change is a constant would bring new theories and twists on what we see as reality.

I donnot blame religion, I blame fanatics. I actually trust religious scripts because they have only one truly accurate interpretation: The person that wrote it. I think the intentions are good and are not meant for literal interpretations. My personal thought is that literal interpretations are rather amateurish thinking and for someone whose into religion, they should be beneath the surface thinkers.

glad you understood it, it's actually a premise of enlightenment written in the Lotus Sutra.

I think soul is existant in the simple fact that life share something sacred together. The essence of just being perhaps. The strive to survive, what is better than that? That is soul.
