The dead girl

"In Los Angeles, a story about a dead girl, told in five chapters. A woman, miserable in her circumscribed life caring for her domineering mother, finds a body. Somehow, this discovery allows her to change. At the morgue, the sister of a girl missing for 15 years believes the body is that of her sister; this liberates her. An older woman, married to a man who pays her little attention, finds evidence in a storage unit; how will she handle it? The mother of the dead girl, who left home some years before, visits the last place her daughter lived and makes her own discoveries. Last, we flash back to the victim's final day."

Outstanding performance by Toni Collette.

Treasure Island (1990) Charlton Heston, Christian Bale, and Oliver Reed. I can't express how good this movie is. All the ensemble cast in this movie are incredibly good.

The problem is this title has never been officially released to DVD so all you find is DVD bootlegs or on VHS and who watches VHS any more? I did find a DVD copy here for sale, but I can't vouch for the site. Turner Classic Movies owns the rights to the movie and there is a wish list there for the movie with 8000 signatures, but I had a hard time getting on tonight to post a link. My copy came from a friend who converted a VHS tape over to DVD. Quality is so so. Gonna take a chance on the ecrater site using paypal for payment. Paypal offers fraud protection. :cool

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1

:thumbup or :thumbdown or:willy_nilly: or

I found it to be watchable but I don't like splitting a story in two. I'd have been willing to sit for another hour and finish it with an intermission. Of course then they would not get another $8 out of me.

Watched xXx last night... freaking ridiculous, but entertaining if you like big explosions and implausible action. :24:

I really liked Vin Diesel in Saving Private Ryan and Pitch Black. But since then I'm wondering if his star has fizzled?

Just watched 2012, a special effects extravaganza. A really implausible story chronically the journey of a family to China to jump on arcs designed to save the human race. :thumbdown

Since I don't follow the books or the other movies and I was bored. .it was pretty good.. Liam got fussy about half way through.. considering it was 2 + hours long not much wonder.

I don't pay for movies when I go.. I have gift certs that I get with frequent flyer miles... I am cheap and find that paying 12.50 a movie is just not cool. :surrender
