Leon: The Professional (foreign version). Blew me away. I liked it so much, I'm gonna buy it. I could not believe Portman's performance. First class and at such a young age. :thumbup:thumbup

Just a suggestion. I think it would make this thread more interesting if contributors not only listed the film name but also what they liked or disliked about it, like Boombala did. :):)

lol holy shit man, I was just coming here to post Sherlock Holmes!

I did not care for it. My explanation resides in the Sherlock Holmes thread.

Pans Labrynth.
I happened to like Pans Labrynth because it had a gritty realism and the direction, but my critique is that it was more about war than fantasy.

I didn't like it either, lol I was just comingn in to post that it was the last movie I saw, I dont like that it's more an ACTION movie now as opposed to a MYSTERY like the old Basil Rathbone ones.

See, I find this kind of info helpful. That's exactly what I thought, the mystery was lost in the action. :)

Me too. :)

Is that the new 3D one? I'll only submit myself to see the biggest of blockbusters in 3D. So for this I'll wait for rental or HBO/ST.

Yeah it is. There were a lot of bullets and guns being thrown at the audience. It wasn't amazing but it wasn't the worst 3-D I've ever seen.

Ju Dou -- 1990 - Chinese with English subtitles

Another film where Gong Li works her magic. She need not even speak because her expressions are so readable. The colors and filiming techniques are excellent but I must warn you, this is no Hollywood cream puff flim -- much more like a Thomas Hardy tiangular love tragedy. Will make you gasp at times.
